I attended this competition last year. It truly was one of the best-run competitions I've ever gone to. Everyone was so classy and the Performing Arts building is beautiful. My only complaint was that it went a bit later than scheduled (which had me driving back home even later).
I wish I could go again this year with so many great groups. I'm thrilled for the finals live feed.
I believe that there is one more to be announced either tomorrow or later this evening, but no idea who it will be. I also do not know who judges Solo Comp/Finals or Prelims.
I'm pretty new to these predictions but This should be a good one but I think I know who will win this so here are my predictions:
GC: Decatur "Elite Energy" (OE)(BC)
1st RU: Homewood "The Network" (BV)
2nd RU: Grenada "Visions"
3rd RU: Brandon "Brio"
4th RU: Madison Central "Revielle"
Things might be a little different than what I predicted, but I wont be suprised if anyone not on my predictions list make finals definitely knowing what happen last year when Homewood didn't even make finals here but I'm pretty sure that Elite Energy will come away with the win.
GC- Homewood ( best vocals & show design)
1ru- Decatur
2ru- Grenada (best choreography)
3ru- Jackson Academy
4ru- Brandon
Literally the only person who has us in finals (Jackson Academy). Thanks Lucas!!
Homewood had absolutely one of my favorite shows last year - I look forward to seeing what they bring in 2016! In case folks aren't aware, Decatur's "Elite Energy" is under complete new direction this year, compared to last year when they attended Jackson Prep. Decatur has a new director and new choreographers - it'll be interesting to see how they do this year.
This is all I know/have heard at the moment for Homewood:
1. It's a story show, not saying what the story-line is.
2. Amanda Disney is heavily featured again.
3. Supposedly, the ballad does not feature her or Aidan Alford.
4. There are like 30ish seniors this year, compared to last year's 40.

2RU: Homewood--Network

4RU: Greneda/West Jones
So glad these groups are moving up to the Large Mixed division. But West Jones could totally make finals. And this competition has had a history of Middle Mixed groups surprisingly making finals (last year specifically).

We are excited to host 29 show choirs from 4 states!!!

So much going on at this competition this year. ALL in Mississippi's capital city in a fabulous 1000 seat theatre with a 400 seat live feed lecture hall next door!
Quick question - on the schedule Prattville "Spotlight" is listed as the first choir competing in the Women's Division which is immediately following the Middle Mixed Division. Previously, "Spotlight" has been a middle mixed choir. Is this a typo on the schedule or did "Spotlight" transition to a women's choir?
Well for what it's worth, I think I answered my own question. Prattville is listed as a mixed choir for Tallassee's competition so I'm going to go ahead and assume it was a typo on this schedule. This has been updated above.
