Haha yeah the downside to that... Any and every guy that trys out for the Keynotes makes it. We base how many ppl are in our group by how many guys try out. I'm sure we'll be fine, maybe I'm just being pessimistic!

Well they wouldnt make the group if they weren't good enough am I right or if they didnt want to give there all why try out? But anyway I personally think keynotes will rock out for years to come.

Haha I love them all and our combo director added to the mix. They are all an incredible team

I am a freshman at Olentangy and I also worry about the years to come. I think our vocals will probably drop a little from losing so many great singers. As far as choreography goes, it may not be as clean, although if we really work hard it could be, but we will probably still have Andy so the choreography it's self will still be good.

I worry about Olentangy too but Mr. C., Mr. S., and Andy are quite possibly the best chow choir team ever.

Our middle schools are not big on choir, nor do they have show choirs to help prepare them to get up to the high school level.

But are your guys' middle schools big on choir? That's my main concern. I love all the freshman we have now. But will the middle school feed us more is my question.

On the flip side of that, CSI had 31 seniors one year, but had an underwhelming show in what was supposed to be the best year

I'm gonna agree with my Keynote compatriot. Choir is not prevalent at the middle school that feeds into us. I.E there arent a lot of boys that are willing to be freshmen in show choir. and after this year with us graduating 19 seniors it is hard to tell what will happen to Keynotes

lol that's funny... I remember when Cedar Rapids Kennedy lost 36 seniors after the 2005 season... We all thought they were gonna crash the next year, but they were still AMAZING!

Why do you say that?

Well I don't wanna say there's no hope but we're losing half the group after this year bc they're seniors. And the only middle school giving us freshman has a very small music program. They're just not interested... As sad as it is..

Anyone that doesn't believe Marysville is a powerhouse is a moron!!!! They have been a great group for 5+ years!!! And should have won at Nationals a couple years back, but lost because of politics!!! They got 2nd at Nationals a couple years back, but they aren't a powerhouse!!! Up until this year, they have been the best vocal group in the state for 4 years!!! Groups would piss down their pants, if they had to compete against Marysville... If there was a category passed powerhouse I would give it to them!!! Not counting this year, they have been consistenly a top 20 National Show Choir for the last few years!!!

True that! Our staff is extremely talented. And if it wasn't for them I don't even think we'd be in the running for "powerhouse." I must admit though... I'm a tad worried of how the Keynotes will fair in the years to come.

Why do you say that?

It's a very close call. I think I would want to see how they do after this year and next to officially call them a powerhouse. I do have to say that the Olentangy staff is a powerhouse within itself.

Very good point there but I would like to add Colerain to the rising stars category, they've had a decent (at best) past few years. I would like to give the nod to Olentangy for Powerhouse in Ohio though. After beating Petal, Fairfield, Piqua, and numerous other choirs I think this would be considered a powerhouse.

Just because your good does not mean you are a powerhouse. People throw the term around way to much. A powerhouse is a choir that finishes in the top 3 at almost EVERY competition that they compete in and win a majority of them. A powerhouse is a choir that has made finals at EVERY competition for years. A year or 2 of good/great performances does not mean they are a powerhouse. A powerhouse is an opinion but the opinion must have a valid argument behind it. If GH won 3 or 4 GC's every year and beat the nations most well known and respected groups there would be an argument. But... they haven't. I personally LOVE GH's shows and they are a very great choir but they are far from the "Powerhouse" category. Groups like Findlay, Fairfield, and Twinsburg are Powerhouses. A few more season of great success I think Marysville will/should be considered a Powerhouse. Teays Valley was a powerhouse and possibly as Aaron said Beavercreek was as well. There are many groups that should still be considered Powerhouses if GH is... Piqua, Teays Valley, Edgewood (OH), Solon, and Olentangy. These groups are good but not powerhouses. You can't just call a good group a powerhouse... you must have a valid argument.

Like I said calling someone a powerhouse is only a matter of opinion and in my opinion they are both powerhousesm
