Also, at warren centrals competition, warren would have won. When a group performs expedition, they get ranked as if they were competing as well. I know the director personally, so I know the results. Warren would have gotten 1st vocally and 2nd or 3rd visually.

First off your right it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. As for the WC competition, keep this in mind. Warren Central pays the judges to work the competition, the judges want to keep in good standing with the directors to get referrals / asked back it's not the greatest situation for an honest placement. Many schools including LC can say well we would have won our competition if we had been competiting. Look at WC's performances in the competitions they did go to.

From what I see on this board, LC must be the most underestimated undefeated choir in the state.

and LC beat Pike, so why aren't they ranked higher?

I am basing this prediction not only off of how choirs have placed this year, but how state has ran in the past. I could be wrong about FC, based off state last year. But they are amazing this year. I was not a big fan of LCs show. I know how the judges rank at state, and I don't believe they will be on top of Pike, Warren, North Central, Franklin Central or any other choirs I put above them. LC has always done incredible during the year, but have fallen short at state. Also, at warren centrals competition, warren would have won. When a group performs expedition, they get ranked as if they were competing as well. I know the director personally, so I know the results. Warren would have gotten 1st vocally and 2nd or 3rd visually. All of the choirs I put on top are incredible. They all have a history of making changes and overcoming any bad placing they had during the year. You are more than welcome to make your own predictions, but this is my prediction of how state will work out. We'll see in a couple weeks!!

It usually has been 12, but I suppose since the split of school sizing, ISSMA is only allowing 9 per class.

predictions:
GC: Franklin Central
1ru: Pike
2ru: North Central
3ru: Warren Central
4ru: Lawrence Central
5ru: Huntington North
6ru: Ben Davis
7ru: Lawrence North
8ru: Castle

I'd hope that NC kicks up their game because now, Carmel isn't in their way
anymore. (of course, it seems like everyone and their moms are stepping it up this year. including us Sensations from Castle)

welll nc is struggling this yr an many other groupps are steppin up LC CS is 3n 0 an beat pike, bd an CG an tied according to points with john burrows had they been able to compete so id say, not because im biased, but because they are having an amazing seasoon that this is their yr

last yr we ddn perform well at sate an our show wasn liked by many judges, based on comments, but we desreved our 7th or 8th place last yr an 3d the yr b4 so yeah

Based on what I've seen this year, I'm giving my opinion.

GC: Carmel (Best visual)
1ru: Franklin Central
2ru: Warren Central (Best vocal)
3ru: North Central
4ru: Pike
5ru: DeKalb
6ru: Huntington North
7ru: Lawrence Central
8ru: Lawrence North
9ru: Ben Davis

The only choirs I haven't seen are Carmel and Lawrence North.

HOWEVER, this is still REALLY early in the year. Choirs can change. Get better. Or even get worse. So who knows. This is just an early prediction based on what I've seen in the last two weeks.

seeing how LC has beaten ben davis, and pike an jus defeated cg im quite sure they will do alot better than 9th

LC only won that competition by 1.2 points...

i honestly think that the top 7 (NC, HN, BD, LC, Pike, FC, WC) could go many ways. Pike faced LC the first competition out for both groups...both have improved immensely since then. im pretty sure NC is taking the week off between hosting tomorrow and state so that gives them two weeks to get their show where they want it for both state and FAME. Warren is competing at Pike next week, i know so that gives them one more competitions worth of experience and feed back. and the same goes for HN, BD, LC, and FC...i believe they all either compete this weekend or next. With the feed back they get and with the time all of the choirs have to improve...early competition results might not prove to hold true.

for pikes sake i hope they do and they can find that extra 1.2 points :-P but good luck to all...this is going to be a great competition.

Quite honestly, everyone should be improving and that's what will make ISSMA so hotly contested. LC is competing this weekend(North Central) and next (Showstoppers Orlando). Can't wait for March 21

are those for class A or B? i'm really glad we are doing the class systems this year, i feel like it'll get more schools involved and hopefully spread the word that HEY SHOW CHOIR REALLY KINDA ROCKS!!!

That, and it allows choirs that aren't graced with a huge number of students to draw from to compete as well. ISSMA State usually winds up being a contest of schools from Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, simply because that's where the big schools with a large amount of students to draw from are. This year, hopefully schools and their locations are a bit more diversified.

Just from NE Indiana you have New Haven, Norwell, Columbia City, Churubusco, BD, Bishop Luers, East Noble as possible contenders.

Bishop Dwenger just might be a contender in the small school division. IMHO.
