omg.... this is the 2nd west side story show i've seen this year. and i think it needs to be abolished from show choir.

thank god LC can sing, because it looks like Ron Morgan crapped out on them this year.

i totaly DISAGREE i hated last yrs choreo for CS for the most part but this year everything fit. and ron gave them good entertaining moves. the wws them itself was odd to me at first but like susieshow choir said the rythms and the who sand what was unique and i love it.
I love west side story and have seen it in sc but have not liked some renditions. if say a carmel did this exact show, i would have still had the same reaction. it was amazing clean up a little bit here an there and bring it in finals they'll do well. the desing and flow is entertainging and funny it reminded me of CG actually only w/o too many character voices. YAY INDIANA SHOW CHOIRS!

well i don't personally see why shows need to be themed. i would much rather have 4-7 songs that are the most fun songs i could find. my freshman year we had a picture/memory theme. it was so hard to find songs to fit it.

one theme i think is really easy to fit songs to is: love. most songs seem to be about love lol.

haha, yeah. love themes. Those are the safest.
I don't think it's important to have one, but cali choirs always have them so I guess it's the next big thing? and I think it helps the group stay excited about every song when they know how it fits into a show, even if it's not a song that they know or like.

I can't think of any other reason. =/

oh, break music again.. I wanna dance in a mob of people with funny tall hair and overdone makeup!

i agree. I was shocked when I heard it was all going to be west side story, but since styles and rhythms are changed, I forgave it.

Indiana's still trying to get a grip on theming their shows..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkqLkBuQrs8 Compare Center Grove this year to LC's in 2006. Im not crying foul, I just want to know what every one thinks between the two.

PS: Jake Adrianson is a BEAST!!!!

i love jake n 2006 was better lc for our opener but carmel did it better last yr....

well one song is different than two whole west side story shows. but i agree with those songs as REALLY popular. I've seen an all-Hair show. many journey openers and closers, and a ton of MJ this year. but idk those all seem more interesting than an all-west side story show.

I thought the same thing in 2006 when four or more choirs in indy all did "somewhere." Then in 2008, even more groups did the exact same song from Songs for a New World as their opener.
there was a year when everyone did "you can't stop the beat" as a closer.
this year and last year I've seen a lot of Beatles and Hair and Journey and MJ.

eh, trendy songs are trendy.

I have Clinton, JB, CG, EEE, then LC. I would say Piqua or Colerain in finals, but i didn't get to see their shows cuz i didn't even think about the time difference (lol my bad)

this whole finals thing is bizarre to me..
why not just have one good round of full out competition?

Maybe it was just me, but I was underwhelmed by LC's show. They sang great! But the actual show design and choreo wasn't keeping me enthused with the group. the vocals in the closer are what brought me back though.

As for finals, i have no idea who those bottom 3 will be after CG, Clinton and JB...but some choirs will not be happy.

That was almost a showsical... but I really liked it.
Their sound was definitely impressive, and the choir was genuinely into the show (I even enjoyed the I Feel Pretty novelty!).

hahaha that was actually pretty cool.

black women singing is the BEST!

Despite my slightly biased view, i think CS did a great job of maintaining their vocal sound. And with what choreo they were given they at least made it clean. Ill say top 3 vocally easily. But for choreo your guess is as good as mine.

Lawrence sings too well to miss finals, but I don't see them getting any higher than 4th. Their show just holds them back too much

4 minutes, yeah. His name is Tyler Mann. He also had the "Tightrope Walker" solo in 2008.

He was just so into character it was almost unbelievable.
