It Hapend to Milton in 2010 at Sauk and 2008 at Grand River...BV+BC=1RU? Sometimes it has to do with rankings like I think at Sauk.

Also happened at Onalaska in 03. Vocals- Urbandale, Choreo-Mt. Zion. 2RU: Urbandale, 1RU: Mt. Zion, GC: GCS.

Whoo MG! 2RU and BC! Cant wait to see your show come Silver Stage!

Also, Mayville. <3 They were the first show choir I saw that completely blew me away, all those years ago. Congrats on a GC!

Do we know who got Best Band?


Onalaska got best band. They were amazing. Me and mrs n were talking about how great their horns are. Awesome.

I will never understand how captions can be divided between groups that place 2RU and 1RU. I don't mean to diminish what Mayville did today- I didn't get to see them, but I'm sure they were fantastic. I just don't understand how that works..

It's just math...

Say group 1 gets 900 points in both vocals and choreo.
Group 2 gets 920 in vocals and 870 in choreo.
Group 3 gets 860 in vocals and 915 in choreo.

Group 1 wins with an overall total of 1800, but doesn't have either the best vocals or choreo of the night.

Obviously this is way simplistic and doesn't take into account stat weightings etc., but it's a general overview of how that sort of thing happens.


That makes so much more sense. Thank you!
