I'd be curious to know if the Winfield, Nitro, Musselman and Poca directors all decided to go to the same event two states away or if it was just happenstance... looks like West Virginia is trying their best to win small mixed!

As Musselman director, we just wanted to travel to a unique city that we have not been to before. Our location is closer to Richmond VA and a lot of places in Ohio then most of West Virginia (our school is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Washington DC). It would be cool if the West Virginia schools all finished top four in Brownsburg, but we definitely didn’t plan that. We are super excited to see the area!

Winfield had a great time here last year and I think word got out that this is a good place to travel for competition. Not too far, but far enough to give these kids a different experience.

This is going to be a huge competition. I have the livestream and am super excited to watch all the tier II mixed!! For tier one I think Royalaires and Sound will dominate. I’m iffy about Carmel’s Single-Gender this year, but I think they’re mixed is a toss up with Zionsville.

3ru: Fishers Electrum
4ru: Laffeyette Jeff First Edition

Single Gender Tier 1:
Gc: Carmel Accents
1ru: Fishers Sound
2ru: Zionsville Choralaires
3ru: Franklin Central High Voltage
4ru: Franklin Comm Sensations

Mixed prediction i am not mad at. Had a convo with my friend who choreographs and this was our thoughts too. This is one of the most competitive competitions this season. Carmel, Zionsville and Franklin Central are all so great and at any competition they are all at....it is tough to pick. They all sing will, they all do their respective chorographers choreo well. it will be interesting for sure.

Wat makes you think Fishers will sweep after Carmel defeated them AND Debtones at the Franklin Central Hoosier show choir Classic? I'm not saying it can't/won't happen - but I am just curious! Indiana is a powerhouse for Single-Gender show choir! Anything can happen - but I don't sweeping beeing done in ANY division at this competition. Maybe if Carmel MS's program is up with their HS they can sweep, but that's about it IMHO. Also, can we get reasoning for your Mixed predictions and why each group is placed how they are?

Does anyone have any predictions for Mixed Tier 2? I think it is really unpredictable with those groups. However I think I might have an idea of the Top 6 finalists:

Winfield
Nitro
Pike
Carmel
Musselman
Cathedral

Obviously all of these groups are exchangeable for finals in my opinion, I mainly just based this off of past competitions and who these groups went against. However, I believe Poca, Mooresville, and F Comm also have a good chance of making it to finals. But who knows, in the world of show choir anything can happen. Every judge has a different opinion. Good luck to everyone at this competition! I am so excited!

Am I the only one that thinks that the Choralaires and Royalaires could both come out on top? I do not believe that either group will receive best choreo caption, however after watching their shows at Layfayette, their vocals were much better than I expected and I wouldn't be surprised if one or both groups go away with best vocals.

im not too sure about choralaires, however Royalaires on the other hand performed my favorite show Zionsville has done in years. the vocals are absolutely breath taking, the choreography is the cleanest I have ever seen from Zionsville. watching them at Lafayette was one of the most incredible things I have seen from Zionsville, and I will be very sad if they don't take home the GC & at least BV!

I sure do hope Fishers Electrum and Sound are watching this conversation for some extra motivation.

After attending the Chicagoland Showcase and seeing Carmel in person for the first time, their choreo was pretty good. I think this comp is going to be a close one between Carmel, FC, and Zionsville. While I think Carmel may win BC, I don’t think they can beat franklin central. Between them and zionsville I think Carmel has the upper hand, but at the end of the day I can’t see them beating FC, and i could also see zionsville coming out on top as well.

Large mixed predictions:
GC: Franklin Central (BV) (BB)
1RU: Zionsville
2RU: Carmel (BC)
3RU: Fishers
4RU: Lafayette Jeff

captions are spot on but carmel beat fc last year at pike and brownsburg and carried that into this season beating them at pike again

I agree with the captions, but after having watched the CG vs Zionsville matchup at Laf Jeff, I thought Sound System easily dominated the Royalaires in every category. I’m not saying their show was bad (soloists and show design were great), but if Carmel was able to defeat both FC and CG, I doubt Zionsville will be able to pull anything off over Carmel. This comp is really going to be a FC vs Carmel tossup.

well last year is irrelevant. different shows, diff judges, and in some cases different choreographers.

easily dominated? so you saw the score sheets to make that statement? zionsville isn't a sleeper. They have beaten CG and FC historically and Carmel. The top 4 indy groups are Carmel, FC, Zionsville, and CG. at any comp any one of them could win. It depends on judges, time of performance, and the actual performance.

it's wild defending zionsville as i was not a fan prior to last year and that was, in my opinion the best show in the country.

Didn't see the scoresheets, just off of my personal experience. I would consider myself fairly unbiased, and I really appreciate what Zionsville does. However, you said it best - it all depends on the actual performance, and respectfully, I really did feel like CG owned that competition. But, everyone is allowed their own opinion, and I respect yours. However, we shall, of course see...anything can happen in the world of show choir!
