I for one am extremely glad I re-curled my hair. Granted we didn't make finals, but it's always nice to head home in style. ;) Not to mention, I ended up having a pop solo to sing, so I'm very glad I didn't have flat hair for that...after all, isn't that like a cardinal sin of show choir?
Great job to all the groups this weekend. I can't wait to see some of you again at Linn Mar and later in the season.
You gotta look hot at all times if you are a member of a Totino-Grace show choir, it's a rule we have.
What do you mean by that??? Not criticizing, just trying to understand what you meant by it.

He/She might be saying that the numbers were just randomly put in order to show off your strong points and didn't really have a flow.
I'm not sure though, I haven't seen your show.
Despite popular rumor, I am in fact male in sex. And this male meant by his commentary that Prairie's show did not have much semblance of flow or unity. A number ended and another started - I never felt as if the previous number had anything to do with the following number, and that remained true throughout the show.
Wow! this comp sounds like it had its surprises and must have been a very tiring yet exhilarating day for all involved. With that said, I am excited to see some of these groups at Hastings later in the season....that's the only comp I can make it to. Anyway,
Totino-kick it up next week and I'm sure you'll rock it.
Linn-Mar-way to be!!
Hastings- You know I love you a lot and am proud of you no matter what (best choreo? NICE!)
Waconia- I love you.

Totino, I have to say that I believe you should've been in finals. I enjoyed your show and for no reason could I think you didn't deserve to be there. However, unexpected things happen in show choir and your group has to maintain a positive attitude. Also, I was almost offended that you reacted the way you did. Yes, it is true that most people believed you should be in the top six after the afternoon performances, but I also heard someone saying that the girls were already recurling their hair and getting ready, among other things, before awards were even announced. This shows a cocky, "We're better than you" attitude that I am not impressed with. I am sorry you didn't make it into finals, but congrats on your placing. You did an amazing job. Just remember that your actions and words are seen and heard by many other people than the ones in your group. I can't wait to see you perform again.

It must be amazing crew current has... I hear that cecelia girl is REALLY good at putting the runner out. and she looks really good in black. (:
I am so proud of current. ohmygosh. seriously, I am s proud. I lvoe you all.
Yeaaaah. Current? I hear they have the hottest stage crew ever. Cecelia is pretty amazing at runner. Margaux too. And that shaker? Oh man. hahah. Their panda shirts were amazing.
But I am soo sooo sooooooo proud of Current! They really work incredibly hard and love every second
Cedar Rapids Prairie:
Seemingly the most elusive of the Cedar Rapids groups, I was curious to see Prairie live for the first time. I recalled that they had a very successful start to their season last year and wondered if they'd prove to be an early season favorite again. Watching their finals performance I felt they sang reasonably well - definitely better than their placement would infer - but the show aspect of their set was largely disappointing. The various numbers felt pieced together, and the introduction to "The Morning After" was very very strange.
What do you mean by that??? Not criticizing, just trying to understand what you meant by it.
First off.
I still cannot believe we made finals. What a rush. I am still proud. We have never placed this high this early on since I;ve been in show choir. I felt it that night. I really felt it. I realize not many other people did. And thats okay. Because my heart is telling me something different. There is nothing more exhilarating than being on that stage performing in front of your friends, parents and fellow...show-choir-ians.
I vaguely remember the groups I saw ( I got 3 hours of sleep friday night) Therfor, I will only comment on those groups.
Fort Atkinson. wow, you guys really have passion for show choir. I was literally smiling the whole time I watched you. I could really feel it ! What a CREATIVE show. The copse bride? I LOVED IT. (: I lvoe you guys. Shout oouts to Jennifer, Joe, Megan, Annie...Etc,
Hastings.
Oh my god you guys. I lvoe you so much. JOEEE. I loved your solo!
Your dancing is killer, and If I had to dance in heely's....I would DIE.
Cannot WAIT TO SEE YOU IN EAU CLAIRE.
congrats to all the groups! sounds like this was a fun and very competitive competition! Anyone have the breakdown scores- they'd be interesting to see.
Also, I must say CONGRATS to my waconia kids taking 2nd in prep, and from what i hear scoring higher than a couple versity groups?!? SO PROUD OF YOU!

I really enjoyed Waconia's show and thought they had more energy than anyone else that night (partly thanks to their horde of screaming fans).
Steve Woodin, Katie DiCicco, and a/ the choral director at UW-Platteville (I don't have a program, and have never seen him judge before, so I truly don't remember a name) were the scoring judges. Rob Jones and Kim Shively were critiquing. Nancy Allen and Stephanie Feld did video critiques.
