My predictions:
GC: CR Jefferson
1 RU:Xavier
2 RU: CR Prairie
3 RU: IC West
4 RU: Lincoln SW
5 RU: Waterloo West
Best Vocals: Xavier
Best Band: Jefferson
Best Choreography: Jefferson

Remember that one spot in finals is reserved for a 1A, 2A, or 3A group - so a maximum of five 4A groups could make it.

I think I will throw out my predictions... keep in mind that I am pretty much generally wrong about stuff:

GC: Cedar Rapids Xavier
1RU: Cedar Rapids Jefferson
2RU: Cedar Rapids Prairie

Oops, yeah I meant Jeff for BC... haha I don't know how I accidentally typed that! Although, I really do enjoy Prairie's style of dancing this year.

i thought the same thing. probably did mean jeff. though i have seen competitions where 1 group gets vocals, another gets choreography, and a 3rd choir wins. It happens at Onalaska every so often, but usually for that to happen there has to be a group that is really good at choreography and comparatively really bad at singing and vice versa. I don't really see that here. The top groups here are all very good at singing and dancing.

I'm pretty sure Waterloo West is not eligible for the 6th spot in finals. Remember here at Benton the top 1/2/3A group makes finals

Since I am not going anymore I'll make my predictions. I have seen all the shows this year.

GC: Jefferson
1RU: Xavier
2RU: Prairie
3RU: Iowa City West
4RU: Lincoln Southwest
5RU: (idk haven't seen any of the small schools yet this year)

BV: Xavier
BC: Jefferson
BB: Xavier

I think Xavier will just sneak by on vocals and band, but it will be really close because Jeff has really upped their singing this year, and all the bands here are really very good. I know Lincoln Southwest just beat Iowa City West at Omaha Westside, but I consider that a judging fluke. 2nd, 4th, and 9th means West really should've made finals. I love Prairie's show this year and I am really rooting for them to do well here!!!! But good luck to everyone!

Most importantly, here's a forecast update: Partly cloudy, high of 24, but no chance of snow! (as of now)

Really looking forward to this one! I'll be in the gym by 10:35 to see Xuberance and will be staying at Benton through finals. My predictions are so meaningless because I haven't seen the groups, so I'm just really interested to see how it all shakes out.

Ya know weird enough as it sounds i think the terrible weather makes the competition more cozy, I mean hey would you rather be outside in a blizzard or watching some awesome show choirs, to me the choice is pretty simple!
hahah sure would...until you had to get on the bus to get home!

lol so true. There was a blizzard in 2003 when we went. There was a big snowstorm the day before Benton in 2005 (i went as a spectator). In 2008 finals got cancelled. And I'm sure snow has been a problem in many more years.

I remember going to Benton two years ago and there was a huge blizzard the night before and we kept seeing sooooo many cars in ditches!
Hopefully that won't happen this year

Nine days from now that will probably turn into a wind chill of -25, fifty MPH winds and 12 inches of snow
