Middle Mixed division just finished! So far we are on schedule with Madison Central to go on at 4:30! I am continually impressed with the quality of groups in the Middle Mixed divisions at competitions here in the south. My favorite show so far was Briarwood’s Mr. Rogers theme. So many feels!!!
This prediction is strictly based on last year's scores and what I expect of this year after last year.

Some of you might be confused by my putting NWR over MC but just based on scores and my shear gut I think NWR could have a chance at beating MC but in the same way I believe it could be flipped!

Well If we're basing it on last year MC would be bringing home the gold as they scored higher than JA(and NW, Grenada, and Oak Grove) last year. But yes, you are right! each year is new!
Agreed. I think Chelsea is going to upset some with how fierce they are. They beat BOTH Northwest Rankin and Brairwood last year, and it was only their second full year competing. No doubt they are going to be mind-blowing this year!
I’m excited to be attending this competition as a spectator this year! I’ve been a couple times in the past, and the performing arts center is stunning! As always—if you see me, say hi! I love making new show choir friends!
A few points before I make predictions:
Jackson Academy are the defending champs. Last year, they swept over PETAL (whose show was SOLID last year). That shows me that JA is ready at the beginning of the season.
Madison Central had a strong showing as well last year against several good groups. And I’ve really enjoyed their shows in the past.
Oak Grove is one of those groups I always want to pull for. Although last year wasn’t a great season for them in terms of placement, I know they were still adjusting to having a new director, so I expect they will be on it this year.
Grenada—I really just don’t know how to feel. A few years ago, they started doing incredible things! But they didn’t make finals a single time last year. I hope things improve for them.
I would also like to point out that since this competition started, Tier 2 groups have placed extremely well (including one year when Decatur did not make finals, which I am still salty about). So Briarwood and Northwest Rankin are two that I would expect to be in finals.
