I was told by one person that he would essentially rate last nights performances in this order...
1- Washington
2- Linn Mar
3- Kennedy
4- Jefferson
5- Prairie
I can't wait to evaluate it all for myself tonight!
While I understand the urge to rank everything, some of the main reasons to do The Fab Five is to celebrate camraderie among the performing groups, performance for the sake of performance, and a complete lack of competition. I'm sure I speak for the other CR area directors when I humbly ask everyone's cooperation in keeping at least this one event free of the usual prediction/results/arguing cycle. The season is so long, and there are so many opportunities for that kind of analysis.
Help us celebrate what the five varsity Cedar Rapids public high school show choirs offer in terms of talent, creativity, and fun! Let's save the rankings for the contests...
I usually ALWAYS enjoy Prairies guys' numbers, I am very excited to see their show.. I don't remember it much, i saw it at Linn Mar and i've seen a lot of shows, whoops!
Everyone better perform the best tonight since I'll be there
My source tells me that there were some mic issues (especially for Happiness, who went first), and all the groups did pretty well, but the best number was Prairie's guys number.
YES! I loooove that song. I actually was wanting to do it for Fab Five next year but I figured since the did it like five years ago they wouldn't do it again. You just made my day!
actually the last time we did it was 3 years ago in 2004. i'm glad i made your day!!
haha it's my fav! Next year that will be the song, because DK has said it's the only one he will ever pick out!

In case anyone cares... here is the schedule for Fab Five:
Kennedy "Happiness Inc."
Washington Solo/Ensemble
Prairie Solo/Ensemble
Jefferson "West Side Delegation"
Kennedy Solo/Ensemble Linn-Mar "10th Street Edition"
--Intermission--
Washington "Momentum" Jefferson Solo/Ensemble
Linn-Mar Solo/Ensemble
Prairie "The Ambassadors"
Finale ("One World") - Directed by Peter Westphalen, Prairie High School choral director
...Well I have to find something else to do besides homework I won't get to see the show as I have dress rehersals for Xavier's spring play both nights ("While the Lights Were Out" by Jack Sharkey, shows on April 19th-21st at 7 PM, contact Xavier High School for ticket information ;) ) so you will have to let me know how it goes.
Thoughts of Fab Five is the only thing getting me through my week right now... that's says a lot about how crummy my life is. haha

I agree with that last part of what you said, Prairie definitely is in the best position, having "nothing to lose" and being perceived as the little guy... plus coming off of (hopefully) a grand championship just a couple weeks before this.. I would expect them to have the most energy of all the groups.
I expect Kennedy will have an awesome performance at Fab 5. Linn-Mar, Washington, and Jefferson will each have good performances but nothing compared to the competition level of each group. Prairie will show us all that they didn't have as bad a year as it seemed!
*ediet* (i predicted this based off what happens every year. At least for Washington they always do better the day that is not taped)
Yeah... well, you are only bitter because I am giving the ticket that was YOURS away.
Lame.
(don't think you are getting sloppy seconds Chris. I haven't bought the tickets yet... but Mr. Seiler was the guest I was going to originally bring before he canceled on me... but instead of saving money, I wanted to be kind and generous to you- and have someone to sit by!)
1- Washington

3- Kennedy
4- Jefferson
