Smile - a big band version of the ballad - very Michael Buble-ish (could very well be recorded by him like this - I haven't looked for it yet, but very cool)
Hernando's Hideaway - big band/swing version
When You Come Home - Mark Schultz
Rolling Stones Medley that included "Start Me Up," "Honky Tonk Women," "Satisfaction," and "Jumpin' Jack Flash" - I might be forgetting something in there.
Sullivan's show was my favorite all day - but I thought everyone did a great job!

oh yeah, and by the way, i am happen to hear that Wheaton did really well. i like to see groups in the top three that i have never seen before, ya know. it means that things are growing...and that is never a bad thing.

I have to say that the competiton was great. When people say that the judging was politics, I have to disagree. I happen to know Wheaton's Director (he used to go to my high school) and he is a new director with a fairly new group and isn't one of the "BEST FRIENDS with the judges kind of guy". Yes, Wheaton's show wasn't the flashiest or most exciting, but they were technically very good (Think Buffalo Grove). Congrats to the groups, and good luck for the rest of the season!
Sounds like it was a great competition. Being a Troy Alum. I am very proud to read those results, especially with all the amazing groups there. Good luck to them and every other group this season!
i went to this comp this weekend and felt that there were alot of good groups, but i think the final judges were a little off. i watched every show in finals and i knew that in prelims wheaton was in fifth place going into finals and there vocal score wasnt that high or higher than EEE or troy(did you hear them sing OMG!) or even sullivan, i do think that wheaton sang well but never did they go above a mezzo forte they always dropped back down to paino whenever they built up dynamics. there is no way wheaton should have jumped that far, because nobody really had a bad finals performace and there werent like amazing, there were good. so i think the judges scored on politics in this comp, which is sad because i always thought of mt. zion being a good place to be judged because it is prety accurate but i think this time it was faulty. these are my opinions and you can take them or leave them but i think its kinda wierd that a group that does jazz Bon Jovi and dances alright and sings alright would move up that much over bigger groups, seems weird to me.
Would that be the one from Damn Yankees? Just asking because I know Gwen Verdon was the original performer of that number and Bebe Neuwirth did it in the revival, and I wasn't sure if something was different.
Also...did I see something about plasma tv's from Sullivan? Anyone care to elaborate?

Mt. Zion always makes us feel welcome, and Mr. Gemar is an AWESOME director and an even better person!
he made me cry!
and a big thanks to mt zion for an amazing day! it was so much fun but as far as performances go, I honestly thought that was one of the most fun shows ive ever performed. I dont care what the judges say I've never worked so hard and had that much fun on stage

Im very sorry for Onalaska.....what happened?
whew! back from a nice, long bus ride!
we're... not really sure. " border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
our day performance was nothing to be proud of... LOTS of little errors and nerves coming out... but we all felt we stepped it up tremendously in finals-- there was definately some honest emotion and "togetherness" on that stage-- but it just goes to show the quality of the groups that stepped it up just as much! It really gives us all something to build on!
That's not to say we aren't slighty disappointed that we were scored THAT low in finals, but there's no point in sticking on the negatives-- after all, "It's a brand new day," and it was still a blast!
Mt. Zion always makes us feel welcome, and Mr. Gemar is an AWESOME director and an even better person! Thanks to Mt. Zion for the great hospitality and fun competition!
