Ona Hilltopers: way to carry the tradition of what paul left you guys. you're still phenominal! congrats and i hope you take this show very far.

Thanks Bunches! It really does mean a lot to all of us!

btw... I already like Pippin just as much as Big River!
See ya'll in a couple of weeks!

Everyone else: Thanks for making the 20th Classic Amazing! It was obvious how much work you all put into your shows, and it's contagious once that breaks through on the stage... so thanks for a fun weekend!

OOOOOO... How could I forget about Mitchell!?!?!? You guys were awesome! not only did you make finals, but you turned your macaroni and cheese into full-blown steakand potatoes! ;) You were definately deserving of that sportsmanship award-- it was soo cool to watch your circle time and how close you guys are as a group-- keep it up! Hope the drive home was a pleasant one!

heyyyy everyone! we just arrived home and im ready to start commenting on some of the shows i saw!

MTZ: of course, i undoubtingly love you guys always. your choreography was very nice as usual and very clean. i would agree on the vocals thing, you didnt blow me away like you usually do, but hey its only the beginning of the season. i thought your down tempo sounded a BIT too much like Letters From War. the whole time i sat there thinking "i swear this is JUST LIKE IT! only theres no Chance ". otherwise, amazing job guys!

BG: I remembered your director from the moment i saw her, but I dont exactly remember seeing any of you guys' shows. i thought you did well with the whole can-can thing (atleast i THINK that was you guys!). there maybe was one song that i felt dragged on for too long, but none the less very entertaining. congrats on your placing!

ATSC: your group makes it seem like you have a lot of fun with what you present to the audience. we enjoyed having you sit by our group for the awards (even though i had a blasting headache and all the cheers kind of made it worse) i still LOVED it! i hope to see you guys again.

Davenport West: LFKJEWOIEJFOLKJSEfljlakjdflk )" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> thats what i felt like when you guys emerged in your all different costumes for the whole "wedding scene" thing. your points on my scale were like BAM up there. very entertaining, delightful, and creative! only problem i had with anything in your show was i think some of the girls had problems with their straps falling down on their dresses, i cant imagine how embarassing that would be so maybe a clip would be better to hold them together versus velcro (which i believe maybe it was). and your vocals were amazing but i would up it on the diction. couldnt really understand anything you said, but still PROPS TO YOU!

Ona Hilltopers: way to carry the tradition of what paul left you guys. you're still phenominal! congrats and i hope you take this show very far.

hope everyone had a good time and i cant wait to see everyone later on if i get the chance.
congrats!

As much as I love show choir, I have to say that yesterday was a pretty big disappointment for me. I didn't stay for finals because I was so bored already that I felt no need to stay. However, given the day round... I would've given BG grand champion, even though I've never been a big fan of BG's shows.

I'm a huge fan of Mt. Zion, but this years show is a considerable let down. Their choreo is always amazing, and fun. It was clean and exciting to watch, but where were the vocals? Of course they are a powerhouse, of course they are a GOOD show choir... but they are surely lacking in the vocal department. I was disappointed. Also, I think the "let's make people emotional, sappy" ballads are a little overworked. Good job I guess, but... it could have been better.

The only show that I really enjoyed was Omaha Westside's, I thought they had really fun choreo and some really shining vocal moments. Albeit their was one performer who overacted the thing so much I almost wanted to jump on stage and push them. haha

It was an interesting competition. That's for sure.

I'll keep my other opinions to myself, I'm sure I've let enough of them out already to offend SOMEONE.

Ben

and one more for one of my favorite groups on the day

Davenport West- Your vocals blew me out of the water, you had the roof rockin', well done!

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. The kids have really worked hard to get such a nice sound.

It always amazes me how our group of 13 guys and 20 girls can produce such a wonderful sound, when throughout the day I see groups with 20 guys and 20 girls and larger, producing sounds that are so weak and pitchy. It boggles my mind.

Altoona, keep plugging away. I know you'll have your closer installed for your next competition, so you have a true ending to put onto the show. You've worked hard this year and done a great job, so keep your heads up and get back to it! God Bless, Damon

Awesome competition to everyone involved, it was definitely an experience sitting back and watching everyone this year.

Mt. Zion, amazing as always, your choreography is always crisp, clean, and your vocals have improved dramatically.

Buffalo Grove, usually one of my favorites but your show didn't do it for me this year, guess that happens.

Mitchell, you were my pick to win. I thought you guys were awesome, you rocked it out, and you're the nicest show choir I've ever met.

Omaha Westside, sadly I did not get to see you in the day round or in finals, congrats on 3rd Runner Up!

Sioux City East, you definitely stepped it up in the night round in my book, impressed me greatly. Keep up the great work!

Sauk- You guys were awesome, I was shocked you were this low, and I love your show this year, well done!

and one more for one of my favorite groups on the day

Davenport West- Your vocals blew me out of the water, you had the roof rockin', well done!

Thanks again to everyone for such an entertaining competition!

That is incorrect.

The day round results looked like this...

1. Buffalo Grove
2. Mt. Zion
3. Mitchell
4. Omaha Westside
5. Sioux City East
6. Sauk Prairie
7. Davenport West
8. Neenah

The points were pretty tight from 1-5. Sauk Prairie was 50 points from 5th. Davenport West missed finals by 5.5 points.

Thoughts and comments to come later. I did not stay because the competition was a drag. I did not see one show all day that did anything for me. Viterbo was a much better competition.
