i wouldnt even really call it a typical show choir show...to me a typical show choir show has people on stage for more than one song

What is that supposed to mean??

Lots of people are saying how our show is a pretty typical show choir show........how so?

It's hard to explain. Nothing about the show is majorly impressive, nothing sticks out. Nothing looks difficult.

Congratulations to everyone! I was really impressed with all of the finalists!! I had so much fun last night......it was definitely the competition with the most talent that I've been to this year!!

I think FC did a heck of a lot better at Fairmont than they did last night at Mooresville....but they were still good.

Mt. Zion.....the precision of your choreography was AWESOME!!

I don't really remember NC's show....but I remember being really really impressed...especially with your choreography! hehe!!

We performed right after Plainfield for the night show so obviously I didn't see it, but their day show was pretty good. I was very impressed with the recoveries after all the falls.....especially Cam's friend Kevin who did a back-flip with his messed up ankle!!

I vaguely remember BD's show....to me, it was just a typical show choir show, I suppose. Don't take that the wrong way....it was good, but that's about it.

First of all, I'm getting pretty tired of being saying that Brownsburg is only good because we have 60 people. I've said this before and I'll say it again.....size has nothing to do with talent and ability. Just because we're big doesn't automatically mean that we're good. I've seen huge choirs that sucked, but I've also seen tiny choirs that were amazing. Second of all, there was a post earlier that was complaining about how our choreography isn't hard enough.....well I'm sorry, that's not really our fault. " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Lots of people are saying how our show is a pretty typical show choir show........how so? Would anyone care to explain, because it would be really helpful. Thanks!!

I never ever get to see NC which is not coo. I've never heard anything negative about their show this year and who could be mad at a choir that can sing and dance so tight!

I think its an honor to tie them at Mooresville because they are the best of the best and they only get better every week.

There vocals on there victory song was tight when they were on stage TIGHT!

The tie was broken by simply asking the judges which choir deserved the win. They said Counterpoints, so Counterpoints won.

I just wanna give some props to NC on their win/tie. I'm really disappointed that we weren't able to join you guys in the finals, but from what I hear it sounds like everyone that was their deserved to be. To whomever did the flip in the BD show: that is just wrong. OMG!!!! You were like 5 feet in the air!!!! Hope to see yall next week at our comp. Good Luck!

Well overall it was a good comp. I was disappointed with the results somewhat and also disappointed with what I heard from North Central about the attitudes Ben Davis had towards them.

Congratulations to North Central on a good show. I thought most of the groups were pretty matched. But if the results had gone off the audience reaction, then Mt. Zion had it. And not to take anything away from Ben Davis but Best Choreography belonged to Mt. Zion as well.

Congratulations to all the groups in finals, pretty odd results but that's part of all this i guess.

GREAT CHOIRS AT MOORESVILLE!! The legistics of this school were not so great, but I guess you work with what you have.........So again, these are my personal opinions:

Daytime comments: (some things you might want to look at)

Plainfield:
BE CAREFUL. Many people falling is nto a good thing. I think there was bit of rushing in the opener. The second number was funny. During the ballad, the girls were a bit overpowering. Guys-polish your number and it will be great! Girls-I love your costumes. Overall fun show.

Columbia City:
Energy at the beginning of the show was good, but it kept going down hill during the show. Ballad was not up to par. I love y'all, but I have heard you sing better! Guys #- Tenors (kinda partial here) sing out, all you could hear was the basses. The choreo was also a bit sloppy. Girls- I love the change, you did great! There were some rushing issues during the closer.

Pike:
Congrats, you get the award for most unique show. The opener choreo was a bit sloppy. In the ballad, there was one soprano that was sharp and she stuck out. Closer was a bit sloppy choreographically, it seemed as though you lost energy right before the closer.

Brownsburg:
SORRY, didn't see you till night.

Mt. Zion:
I loved your show, now on to the other part. It seemed as though you sang 2-3 part harmony for a good portion of your show. 2nd song, vocals were a bit sloppy. I loved the costumes except one thing, as tight as those things were around the female's waists, you could see a spare tire or two. (Not to be mean) Guys #- excellent. Girls, I felt like the tempo you took was fast cause the vocals were breathy and a little sloppy. The closer took my breath away. (Good job tall kid in the front!!) VERY GOOD

Churubusco:
SORRY didn't see you

Ben Davis:
Another show I loved. Great opener. Leah has done a great job! During the ballad, the guys way overpowered. Awesome guys/girls #. Make sure that all choreo is together.
One issue I need to address however. There was a parent from Ben Davis who decided to be very vocal about how much she hated FC Singers' cookie song. I believe she told the whole section of seats. Please control the parentals! Thanks, it just makes watching the groups a whole notch better.

Norwell:
Song selection was different. 2nd song, there were tempo problems. Ballad-clean up guys vocals and there is a female voice that sticks out really bad. By the way, I really liked the good book song. Guys number had some pitch problems. Closer was tough, I like the props but singing needs to come first.

North Central:
For the second week in a row I was amazed at the vocal sound I heard. I felt like you might have been pushing the tempo in the opener. Throughtout the first 1/2 of the show, the choreo is very sloppy in the back. Band was excellent. The Ballad was excellent. Closer, I thought, was the best number of the show. Great energy. 2 weekends seeing you, should have been 2 championships.

Franklin Central:
The opener had some questionable pitch issues. The choreo was pretty clean though. You've heard it before, i will repeat it. I LOVE COOKIES!!!! That number could be the gimmick number of the year. Very good. Ballad costumes and background were great. but, there is a guy that sticks out in the ballad. 4th number, choreo was a little off, but you recovered well. The Closer was good, there might have been an early rushing issue, but it worked out ok.

NIGHTTIME:

Franklin-you got a bad time slot

Plainfield-you improved and only one person fell this time

Brownsburg-finally saw your show. it was different, and your strength is absolutly vocals. Your choreo was clean. Very good nighttime showing.

Mt. Zion-still a rough time slot. I didn't seemed as excited in the beginning of the show, as I was in the afternoon.

North Central-improved from day. Ballad is wonderful! A breath of fresh air from Africa. (Corny but true)

Ben Davis- Good time slot, you were excellent. You upped the ante during your performance at night. Very Very Good!!!!!

Congrats to all, have a great week everyone!

Ryan

I feel that the festival divison is harder than the mixed divison. Its so hard to go out and compete knowing that only one group can make it into finals. Takes alot of guts and the true grand champs are the choirs in festival.

Great job all festival choirs!

CONGRATS TO ALL FROM LAST NIGHT!*
Franklin Central- Nice job!!! But I couldn't understand a word that you were saying! The cookie thing...ehhh I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. I felt like you tried to recreate your circus number from last year. and hey if it works it works! I liked your ballad much better this year!*

Plainfield- Whooo my choir!! Props to my partna KEVRY for suckin it up man!! You definetly stepped up last night and it just shows how dedicated you truly are! Im very proud of you! Im proud of everyone! Especially from the 2nd performance! We actuallly performed and the frosh didnt seem as scared as they were from the morning! Whoo GUYS !! PIKE NEXT WEEKEND!!! KEEP IT UP!*

Mt.Zion- You guys have beautiful girls! And the soloists were nice too! You have good talent in your group and it shows!!!

Brownsburg- GEEZE HAVE SOME PEOPLE ON STAGE! Wow! Like 60?? Damn I bet we could do well if we had 60 but since we have 33 I guess we're doing pretty well hahah Nice classic beginning to your show. The closer was cool....some of your people had a lot of energy but I hated the girls pants in the closer! ahhhh But I liked the show!! Yay for you guys!*

North Central- Wow! Nice job! Our choir kinda looks up to yours! You are the best to us! Your ballad....wow.....the do do do do do do do do do do do thing that the girls do in the ballad was amazing! Its been stuck in my head all night! YAY FOR KENNY! haha you rock my world! c ya at Pike! I liked the soloist from the beginning! he rocked it!! PROPS TO ALL!*

BenDavis- I liked your opener! Wierd song but with a good twist!! I hope the girl who hurt her feet gets better! Good luck at all you do!! Wheres the hot guy named Chris from last year?!!?! I was sooooo sad! *
Yesterday was a great day!! Didn't expect all that to actually happen! "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH NERVE!*"

I just wanna say to everybody cry me a river! You arent the judge you dont have the last say so cant anyone just say congrats to everyone? It was hard fought and a well earned victory! We werent even as pumped as we were during our own comp. We just did exactly what the judges told us to do and thats why the results came back as they were. I didnt think we would do this well but I persoally wasnt ready to accept anything less. I have nothing against NC except they are a rival school of ours but sorry if people were dissing you. Just good ol comp.

I f you dont like what I posted tell me in person I'm sure we can handle this like adults with my fist down your throat! ;)
