BRAVO HASTINGS!!!!  very well-run competition, very nice show (devil went down to georgia was da bomb!  i loved the curtain things), and AWESOME hosts.  seriously, our room was crazy cool.  we were all so excited about our placing.  that was the best we have ever performed our show, and getting second to totino-grace is fine by me!  the only shows i got to see were totino's (WOW), waconia's (both reached for the gun was so funny!  if you're gonna do that song that's the way to do it) and bloomington jeff's, so i don't really know if the results were fair or not.  i just have a question for all the scc people:  why does it seem like amazing technicolor show choir hardly ever gets talked about?  a lot of groups that we consistently place ahead of get way more praise than we do, and i was just wondering why.  do we have a forgettable show?  is it just become we're from nebraska?  if there's anything you think we could work on i would welcome the advice.  thanks a lot!

Yep. Both Bloomington-Kennedy and Bloomington-Jefferson were there. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe that both of them had their prep groups with. Thats a whole lot of Bloomington!

I just want to say that every judge has their own opinions and styles. be careful not to come off as pissed at the judges. At Mt Zion this year the judges did not like TG's full, rich sound. They prefered a straight tone. However, at Hastings it was one of the things they were looking for. There are so many comp's that have problems with judging, i just dont feel that hastinsg is one of them. Nancy Allen and Andrew Cao are both good jugdes who always try to keep groups positive dsuring the critiques. but the truth is they dont judge untill the evening. I can understand how working hard and not making finals is disappointing. But i find it sad when people tear down other groups. these groups did not jugde themselves. they did not pick the finalists. I have not been happy with all of TG's placements over my 4 years, nor have we always finished where the critique judge told us we would be. But hastings is one of the best run comp's that i have been to. The hosts are always really nice, the critiques are always well balanced between postive and negative, and the school is well kept ( good food, clean, ect). not to mention that its the best theater around. i just want people to be more postive and I would like to see less tearing down of others.

AS for our room hosts I LOVE YOU ALL. i had so much fun even if i lost in cards during the lunch break
