Thanks to all the groups that participated. You all gave us a great show. The town is still abuzz about the quality of the performances...they just get better every year!

And to all of you who came to watch your friends or family or just a great day of show choir competition...thanks. We hope you had a good time in Wapakoneta!

I believe the way that judging is set up with combined scores from day and night for vocals is that you have to be the best vocal consistently not just a one shot wonder to get into finals! Great job to everyone! It was a great competition.

I don't understand how Teays Valley gets Grand Champions with no Caption awards at all!

I hate how they combine the daytime and nighttime scores to determine the caption. The way the judging is set-up here is pretty whacky anyway.

What a close competition! Congrats Teays on an amazing comeback! I didn't get to see the prelims performance, but I guess you really stepped it up for finals. I loved the energy in your show. Every show had great energy in the finals.

Vocals and Choero scores were a combination of the day time and night time scores. Teays was in 4th going into finals and 12 points separated 1st to 5th.

On to the performances...

Garfield Heights- I was really excited for this group and I thought the show was well done. There are so many members that have tons of energy. I really think you did so well and you should be proud.

Edgewood- I thought this was the best Edgewood group that I have seen in a while. The theme and costumes were awesome. This show was very fun and I am honestly surprised it didn't score higher.

Beavercreek- I know you are probably disappointed but you had two VERY solid shows.

Colerain- Your prelims performance was awesome. I have never seen Colerain as good as that prelims performance. There was a lot of energy in the show and the choreography was very clean.

Teays Valley- The prelims performance was sub-par and did not have what it should have to win. BUT the finals performance was by far the best show TV has had since 2006. There was a spectacular burst of energy. It has been a long time since I have seen a group get that much better from prelims to finals. You needed to hit the "3 ball" and you did. Congrats and I am so proud.

Congrats to all the groups on a job well done.

I would like to see the score sheets to see how close it was between 1st and 4th. Because it sounds like it was TIGHT.

Beavercreek has also already beat Colerain twice this year so it can go either way

Actually....Colerain only was beaten by them once....

Colerain however beat them twice this year......

Beavercreek, WOW!!!! Best vocals with an absolute boatload of people missing. I couldn't be more proud of this achievement and the hard work you put into totally resetting your show. A great high note to close a year you should be very proud of. God Bless, Damon

Congratulations to all of the groups that performed, and to Teays Valley for their Championship.

Every group in finals did an excellent job and it was such a close competition, which is obvious by end results and caption awards. While I cannot argue that Teays Valley did not deserve to win, because they put on an AMAZING show, I was slightly confused by the scoring. When I saw that final score sheet it showed that every group, except for Teays Valley, went down in points from the the day show. I don't understand how this could happen when every group improved so much between the day and night.

I would also like the congratulate Beavercreek. Having about 15 members of their group missing yesterday and still winning the Best Vocals award is something to be proud of.

And one final congratulations to Teays Valley. I have seen your show three times this season and each time has been like watching an entirely new choir. You have improved so much from the start of the season and put on a spectacular show last night. Congratulations.

So Edgewood was beating Teays in the day round and ended up getting third? Prominent Rendition must've made a huge push in the night show.

4th actually... And Teays might have even been 5th in the day - that's what their parents were saying. But they were terrific in both the day and night. Between Edgewood's Grobin ballad, and TV's Idina Menzel piece, they had a lot of the audience moved to tears kicking off a strong finals competition - but perhaps I'm biased.

TV moving from 4th or 5th to 1st without taking home a single major caption was certainly interesting, but I will not say they were undeserving of GC in the slightest. I loved their show... And TV's parent group was probably the most supportive there. I think they gave every group that performed at night a standing o... Kudos.

I also really enjoyed Colerain's performance! Their ballad, guys #, and closer especially were quite strong and well performed.

Congrats to Teays Valley and the rest of the groups! This was Edgewood's final competition so we will be saying goodbye to all of our talented seniors. This is by far one of the best senior classes we have had in quite a while. Also congrats to Sophisticated Ladies, who took home the Single-Gender division championship. Those ladies worked very hard and only had one competition in which they didn't take home a Grand Championship (Danville).

Hope everyone had a great weekend and looks like you will hear from me again next year. Take care and be safe for the next nine months.
