Rumor has it that burbank may be on their way down to this one too. This and our (Urbandale) competition will be the headlines for midwest show choir this year
And Happiness is lucky enough to be going to both of them! With the caliber of the groups already signed up, it won't be a competition to first. It's shaping up to be a competition just to see who makes finals!

And I thought Urbandale's competition was ridiculously loaded this year. Yikes. If I could manage to go to both Urbandale's and Wheaton's competitions this year, I could die a very, very happy man.

Highly considering the road trip to this one... I've already road tripped to Colorado and to Toronto Canada this year, I can definitely do Chicago.

Sorry Jay, but I don't buy that. Not till I see proof

Hey I'm right there with you. It's just what I heard. But then again I would be freaking scared to compete here! haha

I heard a rumor that Wheaton actually overbooked and had to turn away Burbank. Idk if it's true or not though.

Carlsbad is going to New York for their national trip, and don't believe Brea Olinda is going to Illinois again this year after they went to Chicago for FAME Nationals last year

I think it's Carlsbad or Brea Olinda.
No I don't.

My guess is Burbank... Los Alamitos and John Burroughs are both planning to attend the FAME Nationals Competition in Chicago in late April and I seriously doubt Los Alamitos is planning to make 2 national trips this year. Also, there is no SoCal competition scheduled for the weekend of March 9th
You know, I guess that probably does make more sense. Would Los Al actually travel to Illinois twice in one competition season? Probably not, but who knows. I hope Burbank releases their schedule soon!

If Burbank actually goes to this, I may actually die.

So. Excited.

Oh, Häakon, always a step ahead of the rest of us.

It doesn't appear to be Burroughs according to their calendar. Burbank has yet to release their competition schedule, so who knows what In Sync is doing this year. My guess is Los Al...according to their competition calendar, SoundFX has a March 9th competition with details TBA.

This competition may be even more competitive than the provided lists show so far.

A California School Perhaps?

Well we have two competitions in Eastern Iowa that same weekend, so that's usually why Iowa groups don't compete out of state that weekend. This is a bloodbath though. I love your byline Adam. That was hilarious.

I wasn't really referring to that single weekend though - Chicagoland at Hersey H.S. has always been a good event, with Clinton and Petal being past champions (and finally - a couple Iowa schools have made their way over to that one), it's just seems to me it's all too rare to see the best of the Iowa programs making the trip over (and I do understand that there are a ton of other factors at work here...)

But often the Chicago contests like this one can draw a significant level of competition from around the country considering they're not "official" national events - and the top groups in Iowa really should represented in my opinion! So in this particular case, I'm thrilled they are... so please - let that continue!

For years I've been hoping some of Iowa's best would make their way over to a major Chicagoland competition, and now it's finally happening!
