QUOTE (tscott @ Mar 30 2009, 08:30 PM) *

Chicago is where the Cup is going to be, so that's why I chose the Windy City. Could add an "expo" of arrangers, publishers, designers, costume houses, production services, et al.

And that!!

And i also agree with the bigger venue- for this chicago or new york would work but with enough participation and the same venue just over two days- Orlando would work!
But Chicago works out as a more central location....so lets go with that!

So the dates have already been set by FAME

CHICAGO- March 27th, 2009

WHO WANTS TO BE THE FIRST TO CONFIRM!!!?

Only 362 days until the BIGGEST,BADDEST SHOW CHOIR SHOWDOWN EVER!
ha!

Or everyone could just agree to agree that FAME Chicago or FAME Orlando (my personal choice- chicago and new york had thier chance) would be "THE BIG ONE" next year and begin making plans. If someone isnt going to work on holding one- and like it has been talked about so much in the past- the difficulty in doing so---- why cant you all as students and directors using this forum, setup some type of prearranged participating groups lineup and allow FAME to publish as they receive payment and forms?

As groups confirm thier intent for next years National Competition plans- let it be known. Then additional groups could join wanting to compete against the best.
To be the best you must compete against the best.

just a thought.......

I know that. But getting a big enough venue? and setting a day that all the choirs can be able to go to could be hard. because all the "national" competitions are on different days...but who knows? even though it hasn't happened yet, maybe it could

Almost all these choirs go to a "national" competition every year, Susanna. Why not all go to the same place and have a REAL show choir nationals???

Not too early to talk this one up....
Let's all convince Ankeny, Brea, Buffalo Grove, Burbank, Carmel, Center Grove, Clinton, Dekalb, Eisenhower, Fairfield, Findlay, Franklin Central, Hart, Huntington North, John Burroughs, LaCrosse Central, Lafayette Jeff, Los Alamitos, Marysville, Mt Zion, North Central, Pike, Totino-Grace, Urbandale, Waubonsie Valley, Wheaton Warrenville to make this one. (Who have I left out??) Let's force FAME to have to get a bigger venue and make it a two-day event!
