Speaking of extremely cold weather in Iowa, 3 degrees at 2:00 today.

I hate winter

I did hate winter until I discovered Show Choir.

I'm supposed to work on Saturday, but I feel like it is a sin for me to not come watch this competition. The line up is ridiculous! and I didn't get to watch hardly any groups at Viterbo, except my lovely host group Johnston
I hope I can get there! I must!

I think you should come.

I think I might have a little bit of a heart attack from excitement for this competition (my heart was actually beating faster). I'm so excited to see Totino as an April James group! I am also stoked to intently stare and listen to every move and sound Ankeny and Urbandale make. All this waiting is making me freak out! *twitch-twitch*

Does anyone know Urbandale or Ankeny's show this year?

Especially in these early competitions, I know that weather can be iffy (at best). So here is the forecast from the local ABC affiliate.

I'm pretty sure they told me they were planning on coming. Megan's little brother is in Vitality and Taylor's younger brother (can't call him little since he's like 6' 4") is in Studio.

Yeah, I talked to Taylor before choir today and she said they were still planning on coming down. She said she thought it was funny that you know who I was haha.

This is going to be SO intense. I can hardly wait. And i think that anyone who makes finals should feel honored, because these are ALL top notch groups...bring on the blood bath

Now that I've experienced a few more western Midwest choirs in person, I think I'll take a stab at predicting the finalists. With this lineup I don't think any one person will correctly guess all the finalists, but I feel the following groups have a great chance at earning a second showing.

-Ankeny
-Bemidji
-Cedar Rapids Xavier
-Johnston
-Totino-Grace
-Urbandale
-Waukee

I just was extremely impressed with Xavier this weekend. You guys made me very proud to be from Iowa and were the most entertaining show choir I saw all day (East, also was VERY entertaining). From Onalaska OR Viterbo. I've heard from a source that Kevin Butler had you all in 1st during finals. I can't wait to see the show again at Linn Mar. Those vocals were the tops!

Thanks a lot for that. Mr. Butler gave us a FANTASTIC critique after our daytime show at Onalaska. A lot of great comments for tweaks here and there. We're hoping to incorporate them for this Saturday... if the weather cooperates with us (We're already missing a 3 hour rehearsal tonight because of the snow).

I don't remember being this excited for a competition on the Monday before it, ever

I really appreciate you saying that... but anything can happen. At a competition as loaded as this one is, there's almost unlimited combinations of seven fantastic groups that will end up in finals.

Agreed.
