I just saw on the news that the Cedar Rapids schools are once again closed tomorrow.

Will this affect the competition?

It'll be funny if that affects this competition... Kennedy is having a show choir preview concert in an hour that isn't cancelled. On a day where there was no school and there's no school tomorrow. But hey I'm not complaining, can't wait for it

Cedar Rapids likes to chicken out with school when it comes to the weather, I am really doubting (or maybe just hoping) it has an effect on the competition.

Yeah we hope nothing happens. Most of the chair members and parents are mostly worried about temperature and the -50/-60 wind chills and busses stalling.

But they are just worry warts. Nothing stops show choir. (except poorly cooked walking tacos, but that is a diffrent story)

Hey Everyone,

Just a little info on what has been going on this week at Linn-Mar. Due to the extreme cold weather (aka the highs of -8) we haven't had school for the past couple days. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer (high of 6), but the low is still -22. I just wanted to let everyone here know to check the supernova website (http://www.linnmarsupernova.org/index.htm), the Linn-Mar website (http://www.linnmar.k12.ia.us/schools/High_School/default2.asp), or right here for updates on the situation. I'll be posting any information on schedule changes, date changes, or (knock on wood) cancellations regarding the FRIDAY competition. We aren't expecting anything for Saturday yet, but it wouldn't hurt to check for Saturday changes either. We hope everyone has a safe, warm, and fun trip and we wish everyone good luck this weekend.

Thanks!

Supernova is going to be absolutely amazing!! All these amazing groups are going to be there and if you look, 6 or 7 groups that are used to being in the finals all the time aren't going to get in! GOOD LUCK

Ah! Cam, we are going to be running on like 4 hours of sleep tops.... but it's the pain we will endure to go to Linn-Mar.... can't wait! Friday will be busy though too. And I'm doubtful that Adam will want to drive up that night and I'm also doubtful that we will want to. We'll just have to tough out the 5 AM departure time.

Adam and Cam... you two are more than welcome to come down to good ole' Iowa the night before Linn Mar and then take the 50 minute ride with me on Saturday. We could even celebrate Adam's birthday on Friday!
