Didn't Los Al go very early last year?
Yes. "Sound FX" performed third last year.

edit: And I second your earlier question about judges. You would think that info would be on the website, but it's not. Hopefully a student or someone can fill us in!

Ouch, poor Fairfield.
Ouch that is really unfortunate for Fairfield...
Yeah as a definite contender coming in, this puts a bit of a damper on that momentum. Fairfield has just had bad luck with random drawings/national competitions as of recent by being the first performing group during finals at FAME Chicago 2011, SCN 2012, as well as having the scoring fiasco earlier this year at FAME Orlando #2. Hopefully, though, they will be able to set the bar really high since they are used to this!

" Los Al certainly got a gift!"

Both of their groups seemed to...

For two groups that both finished 6th at their respective qualifier and received "wild card" spots, Keller Central and Jackson Prep also seemed to have luck on their side! Went from not even qualifying for the National Finals to having prime performance slots!

Ouch that is really unfortunate for Fairfield... but I am very excited for this competition. It is going to be a very diverse set of groups. I'm interested to see how the judges have this one play out. I also can't wait to go again, I love the Arie Crown Theater, it is a great venue.

There has been the last couple of years, but it's been really expensive... like $30 if I remember correctly.

Is the feed clear?

Is there going to be a live feed for the FAME National Show Choir Finals again in 2013??? I really want to watch the competition in California!

7am will be the first group. They are drawing tomorrow for the time slots.

WEDNESDAY, April 17 - A video drawing will be posted on the www.showchoirs.org website at 12:00 PM PST for all groups to view. This drawing will be a random draw for the Saturday schedule with the Women's Groups drawn first followed by the mixed groups.

Does anyone know an approximate start and end time to performances on Saturday or an idea of how they'll order them? I would hate to miss some of the really great SoCal groups visiting Chicago!

Is this just the Friday schedule? Does anyone have the schedule for Saturday?
The schedule posted above is only relevant for the Friday sound check performance. And, as you can probably tell, the show choirs are grouped together based on their placements (ex. Fairfield, Center Grove, and Danville all placed second at their qualifiers and so on so forth for the other show choirs).

Assuming it's the same format as last year, it will be a random performance order. I don't know if/when they will draw numbers, names out of a hat, etc., but hopefully soon.

Does anyone have any girls group predictions?!
Just as epic of a competition this is for the mixed show choirs, this will be a bloodbath for the women's groups! I would expect the top three to be John Burroughs "Sound Sensations," Los Al "Soundtrax," and Center Grove "Debtones." Sound Sensations 2013 are currently unbeaten on the season. Soundtrax is the defending FAME Women's Champion, and Debtones have an excellent history including an epic 2011 season. But, you know, anything can happen.

I thought they placed higher. Great group, and really wished i could've seen the show live again! Congrats on a great year ladies!
Had it been any other qualifier, they likely would have qualified for the National Finals. The Orlando qualifiers were stacked!

Pure Elegance was 2nd Runner up in Orlando and not one of the automatic qualifiers. They will not be competing in Chicago. Still a great season for a fantastic group of young ladies!
