How about a discussion starter?

Okay, I'm not sure exactly how to word this delicately, but how much (if at all) do you guys think the stylistic preferences of the judges will affect the judges' scores? I'm not too familiar with most of the groups going, but it'd be stupid to assume that everyone's show is equivalent, stylistically. I also realize that the judges are supposed to be as unbiased as humanly possible, but whenever you're judging groups of such a high caliber, there are very few things that might set one group above another, if you look at it from a completely objective standpoint. Personal bias might just squeak in there.

Soooo, what do you think?

It's not that I'm not over it. It's just even with the groups that received invitations, quite a few that would make finals denied. We knew it was going to happen, but now that it has it's just meh.

That's so dumb. Fame would get so much more money.

He was just being sarcastic, I believe. Still, if I was given the choice between performing in Hong Kong and performing twice at Fame, I would pick the former without hesitation. I know what you mean, though. Way more people would go to Nationals if some of those groups were there.

Yes, all of those groups wanted to come, but Fame wouldn't let them.

I'm a little underwhelmed with who is actually going. I might get dislikes for this, but honestly it seems like they should have just used FAME Chicago to claim the champion. It seems like the three groups from there have a great chance of finishing 1,2,3 here. I don't know. We knew this was going to happen, but how can you claim a true national champion with no Burroughs, Burbank, Clinton, Omaha Westside, Iowa groups, Waubonsie Valley, etc in the mix.

It's going to be interesting to see the different styles these groups have to offer. Since region affects how a show is put together, the judging may be bias to one region's style or another. Just my thought.

They're the same price as getting them at the door. I'm leaning more towards not going just because of how expensive the tickets are. Think about this: for two parents to go see their kids if they're not chaperoning, that's over $120

Prices online are 67.50 with the "convenience" charges. So I was wondering if they will charge that at the door. Otherwise, I will wait 'til I get there and save 7.50. I can afford lunch that way.

Tickets to attend the event are available at TicketMaster and can also be purchased at the door.

What price are the tickets at the door? Because Ticketmaster is loathsome and I'd like to give them as little money as possible.

The qualifying events are complete! At this time we are finalizing the schedule which will be sent to the participating directors first, and then will be posted on www.showchoirs.org and here. This will be an amazing event. Watch for information regarding the Aspire Awards Banquet, a performance by the Ball State Singers, a performance by former American Idol Finalist Shaun Barrowes and Broadway performer Tim Shew. The competition can be watched live on the Internet through the Show Choir Fan Network. Login information will be posted online within the week. Tickets to attend the event are available at TicketMaster and can also be purchased at the door.

*It has been said that all 3 Orlando qualifiers will not be attending Indianapolis. It was also said that EEE was on the fence...any confirmation about their decision?
**Also, at FAME Chicago Chad Alexander announced that there had to be 3 women's groups in the women's division for the winner to get a bid to Indianapolis. The only 2 competitions where there were at least 3 groups in the women's division were FAME Hollywood & FAME Branson. But it has been stated earlier in this topic that Carroll "Select Sound" (Women's winner from New York) will be attending...and there are only 2 groups listed in that division.

***If all three Orlando groups are out, and EEE is in...the list looks something like this (unconfirmed):

Mixed
Brea Olinda "Masquerade"*
Carroll "Minstrel Magic"*
Center Grove "Sound System"
Eisenhower "Elite Energy"
Enterprise "Starship"*
Fairfield "Choraliers"*
Jenks "Trojanaires"

South Jones "Company"
Totino Grace "Company of Singers"*
Wheaton Warrenville South "The Classics"*

Womens
Brea Olinda "Spellbound"*
Carroll "Select Sound"*
Center Grove "Debtones"

Also Hart placed 4th at FAME Hollywood. Enterprise Starship made it over them. But very close picks!

Olentangy also didn't make the cut.

What happened to the crying emoticon?
Hm, it's still there but it looks like it's not working properly. I'll have to see what's causing that.

You can always just type out the code to the left of it and it will work.

$60+???? I'm officially rethinking my decision. That is a LOT of money, plus hotel, plus food, especially for a college kid who's not working right now

I'd pay $200. Unfortunately I have to work that weekend.

What happened to the crying emoticon?

I know that FAME Chicago has been there for so long, but wouldn't having the National Championship make more sense to have in Chicago than Indy?
Not really. Indy is a high quality convention host. Tons of hotels and everything you could want is walking distance from the convention center. And less traffic and a little less expensive than Chicago.

I could be mistaken, but did you just pick a PERFECT bracket? hahaha..i miss march madness already..

You are mistaken. Petal got fourth at Branson and didn't qualify.
