Once again, I’m predcting a few upsets. Hastings’ record this year is pretty darn stellar. Besting Linn-Mar, Glenwood, and Bemidji all in one season at three separate competitions is incredibly hard to do. If anyone can edge out Los Al here, it’s Hastings. I so wish I could be there, good luck to everyone competing!

It's gonna be really interesting to see what happens. I think everyone predicts that Los Alamitos will take the GC with best vocals and best choreography. Hastings is having a great season, only losing to Westside and Bemidji, and then later coming back to beat Bemidji. Hastings as also defeated Titan Fever already, who has done well in 2017 and 2015 here. Glenwood is having a good year, they beat ATSC at Troy and have quite a few wins under their belt. Center Grove is going to be out for blood at their next competitions. They have gotten second all year until their 4th at Glenwood. I'm sure that they will do well here, just like they did with 2017 (2nd) and 2015 (2nd). Auburn has had an amazing year so far, only losing to Clinton. I'm sure they will see success at this competition, but I don't know if success means finals for them. Petal recently dominated at Glenwood this past weekend, and I'm sure that momentum will carry them for the season. I think petal will do well here. Findlay is having a great year, but so were they last year before they arrived at this competition. I definitely don't see them taking one of the top final spots, but I could see 5th or 6th. They defeated Fairfield at Olentangy, so I think that will bod well for them. Sioux City East has had an amazing season, but they haven't gone against any big names since Mo' Show on the 9th. I think that if they are able to remain undefeated this weekend against Ankeny, then they will take a spot in finals, but even if they narrowly lose they could still take a spot.

Petal beat Homewood in 2015 at Jackson Prep, but then was two or three places lower than them at SCN 2015. Groups evolve over the course of the season and progress differently, so it’s entirely possible that Petal could beat them here.
