Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that it has been stated that Totino-Grace has an automatic bid to Nationals in Indiana because they are last years Cup Champions...correct? That being the case, if they make it into the top 3 at Chicago (which pretty much everyone has predicted, and they have a fantastic shot at doing), will FAME send the 4th overall group to Indianapolis as well...since Totino already has a bid?

The times are set how they are due to union laws on how long the Opry workers work and such.
My point was that within the same time allotment, there are still ways they can make different choices (should they wish).

Or they could have finals on the first day, or just not have finals. There are always ways to make change.

Or find an available venue.

Plus at SCN they were in first after prelims, and had to perform first in finals at the BUTT CRACK OF DAWN.

Maybe this is meant for the SCN thread.. but.

Having performed both in evening finals at FAME Chicago and morning finals at SCN, evening finals is definitely more comfortable haha. It doesn't take a vocal healthcare specialist to figure out that waking up just past the "BUTT CRACK OF DAWN" after a late night is neither fun nor does it contribute to efficient vocal production.

I'm rather excited for Chicago. Find me and say helloo! =>

To hold the competition at the Opry, they must adhere to time restraints. Thus having finals that early. It will never change.

Seriously SCN, if you want to be a legitimate national competition you have to do something about having the best choirs in the nation performing at 8 in the morning. Even professional singers have a hard time singing 100% that early in the day.

I'm 200% sure their performances at FAME Chicago will be better than their SCN finals performance.

I think that it could honestly go any way, depending on which choirs are on their A game this weekend and what the judging panel is looking for- but I'll make a prediction anyway.

GC: Wheaton Warrenville South "Classics"/Fairfield "Choraliers"
1ru: Wheaton Warrenville South "Classics"/Fairfield "Choraliers"
2ru: Totino Grace "Company of Singers"
3ru: Waconia "Power Company"
4ru: Twinsburg "Great Expectations"

After Totino's loss at SCN, I think that they will definitely bounce back strong this weekend and could certainly place higher, but as of now this is how I honestly see it going.

*Twinsburg.

But really, Twistburg sounds like a good name for a city.. I'm surprised someone hasn't come up with one yet.
