So who has Findlay beaten this year? Who have they lost to?

I've seen Wheaton Warrenville and North Central this year, and unfortunately I must say that NC has the better show. Though if the judges are conservative WW might beat them. I've seen Burbank as well, and if Burroughs is truly better than they are, then I'd say that Burroughs will probably win.

Tonight, Adam, Cameron, and I are going to see "SHREK- The Musical!" with Sutton Foster! Should be good.

Just bought the soundtrack to Shrek. The music itself is incredible! Please let us know how the actual show is!

I have no problem with guessing and everything. I've just always thought the way people phrase it is silly.
Haha, I agree with you. I've only seen two of the choirs in attendance this year in person so there's no way I could make a prediction. I'm just excited to see so many great groups perform!

I think everyone is underestimating Greece Athena.

HELLO from NYC!

I just arrived a few hours ago- just ate some good italian and am now headed to Central Park.

Tonight, Adam, Cameron, and I are going to see "SHREK- The Musical!" with Sutton Foster! Should be good.

As far as my hopes, I'd like to see North Central win. They haven't had a better set since 2006. Its a nice blend of classic and contemporary show choir styles. Sure Burroughs beat NC last year in Chicago, but the Counterpoints are fierce this year. Its an intensity I haven't seen out of them since the last time NC went to FAME NY.

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

we won't hold you too it if you're wrong! LOL

.......or will we????

I know I've made predictions based on who I like, who beat who last week, etc. So I guess my guess would go with

GC: John Burroughs (BV)
1RU: Findlay (BC, BB)
2RU: Wheaton-Warrenville
3RU: North Central
4RU: Chula Vista
5RU: Greece Athena

that's why its just a prediction! It's just a fun little guessing game of what you suppose will happen. I don't think anyone making a prediction is studying every group and analyzing every aspect of the shows. It's purely for fun so go ahead and make a prediction, we won't hold you too it if you're wrong! LOL

Ever notice how everyone just predicts results based on which choirs they like... has anyone actually seen all of the shows? I know who I WANT to win, but not having seen the other choirs I also have no good information to predict what is going to happen. There's nothing wrong with being a fan, it just gets a bit silly sometimes.

I STILL say Homewood "Network" will be in finals. They are very underestimated, i think mainly because noone has seen them other than the southern areas.

Good Luck to all!!!

This topic is only about a quarter as long as Fame Chicago was by this point right before the competition last year. What's wrong?
I think the Clinton vs. Burroughs thing was the main reason. There are plenty of top-notch groups at FAME NYC this year, but Clinton was so talked up as being unstoppable that it was a rather big deal when that legacy was challenged (and of course, overturned).

Judging by posts in this topic, Burroughs probably has the best odds going in this year - but I don't think that if they take something other than first it would be anywhere near as earth shattering. There are lots of great groups going, and this notion of "best in the nation" is so hard to quantify with judging being so subjective and no one single event where all of the best of the best truly compete.

Burroughs has certainly built up an amazing program and shown that they can compete on a national level, but it has only been a few years that they've really been in that top-slot position. That being said, after two consecutive years of beating Clinton and two consecutive FAME national Grand Championships, a win in New York this year would definitely help to solidify the foundation they have been very successfully building.

Great line-up definitely, but Ona 2004 had no West coast, no East coast, and but one Southern choir. How could you think there was good national representation?

I never once said I chose Onalaska 2004 as the best competition ever for having a "national representation" of show choirs.

The quality and quantity of groups were just astounding. A collection that I have yet to see again since. John Burroughs just started to make a name for themselves out in these parts in 2004. WV didn't even exist. Clinton never competes that early. And who knows about North Central. Even without those top four FAME Chicago finalists... it was an amazing competition that I feel rivals all others.

Good Luck Powerhouse and Chula! This should be an intense competition. If Burroughs wins this one I think there is no doubt who the best choir in the nation has been over the last couple years.
