We have not received a DVD or heard anything from the videographer. Does anyone know anything. Were they affected by flooding?

I'm kinda bummed. I got my SCN DVD, but the audio is messed up right at the beginning of Burbank's show. The audio kicks in fully right before they start singing, but it's very muffled and all you can hear is foot noise clomping around on stage during the cool band opening to Mr. Roboto.

The quality on the rest of the DVD seems to be excellent though.

On a different note - It is quite sad to see the Opry stage under water. The damage loss could be staggering. Hard to believe that the kids performed on that stage just over one month ago.

Truly sad!

Has anybody received their Show Choir Nationals DVDs yet?

It's been almost 5 weeks now since the competition and I'm getting impatient.

We sure haven't received ours either. The phone number shown on the website is disconnected, so I just emailed. We'll just see what results that will yield.

So Los Al is apparently infamous when it comes to talking down on other choirs...

Must be an average height thing. . .

I just want to say that Nationals was and probably will be the best show choir competition I've ever attended. It was utterly AMAZING. I loved watching everyone's show and think of how amazing it was that Pekin was even there. This was our first national competition in 19 years. The last time Noteables attended one was Showstoppers Chicago in 1991, where they took 3rd place. I loved Nashville sooo much. I really hope we can go back (even with a director change) soon before I leave, and hopefully the Pekin Noteables will stay the caliber that we've become for many years to come. I thank Connie Mulligan for giving us the chance to go to Nashville and give us that "extra push" to get us into a national competition. She was and still is truly amazing and I wish her the best of luck in wherever life takes her next, and I hope that our new director will keep us where we want to be.

Has anyone received their DVD's yet? Just wondering when we might expect them...
The website that is linked from the Show Choir Nationals site says to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of the DVDs. Sadly that would mean we still have at least a couple more weeks to wait until they arrive.

Hey Sevy, I noticed you're online. Would you please give us your take on Leonardo as you are the man behind the mask? Congratulations on your best male soloist recognition. You definitely deserved it! Mr. Stevens

No, they were definetly not from Los Al lol.

So one thing I didn't really get to talk about but have been wanting to. Of all my years being around show choir I had sadly never seen a group from Iowa live. I saw 2 at scn! I had seen at least 1 group from every other big show choir state so I was happy to add Iowa to my list. I thought both Urbandale and Johnston did great! Hopefully I can see more of you next year!

I also heard two parents of a group complain that Burbanks show wasn't show choir. While they were talking I kept laughing when I would think how ironic it was that a group that according to them "shouldn't even be considered show choir" would beat their group at any competetion that judged SHOW CHOIR anywhere in the United States lol.

Was that really called for? Maybe they were from Los Al.

The Geisha is Leonardo's daughter (the evil leader guy with the masks). At the end of the show, Leonardo reveals himself to be an alien, just like the miraculous visitor. The Geisha, being Leonardo's daughter, is half alien as well... therefore having white skin. Since Leonardo hid his true identity... the daughter poses as a Geisha, hiding HER true identity... a Geisha, as you know, is someone that paints their face white... so, she doesn't need to.

Being the geisha, I can tell you that you're right!
Being only half alien, she was born with only a white face as opposed to an entire white body like Leo and the Alien. As an attempt to hide her identity and force her to act as high society, they dress her up in fancy clothes as a geisha, although she is the voice of the Bohemians.
That should answer any questions about Geisha! Hahaha.

Judges can be partial to styles too. I remember in 2001, Poca missed out in Finals at a Competition (can't remember where) because one judge had them in 13th place because "she just didn't get our show." Can you imagine if Burbank or John Burroughs missed finals because one judge "just didn't get it?"
