After months of training, therapy to deal with dreaded thumbs downs and the support of my emotional support animal, I'll make a slightly less vague/awful prediction, but in list form! It's like you're reading Buzzfeed but I'm not pretending to be a journalist writing clickbait aimed at your childhood nostalgia!!!
GC: Los Al (BC)
1st RU: Loveland (BV)
2nd RU: Carroll
3rd RU: Jackson
4th RU: Uniondale
5RU: Etobicoke
"Why?" you ask, teeth grinding, finger tips bloody from furious, rage-induced typing, "Why would you put Los Al over Loveland for first, why that order?"
To be honest I just have a feeling Los Al is gonna smash it out the park. Or theater or whatever they perform in. They've only had one competition so far, which was a close one between the Big Cali Three (Something like 4 points of beating Burbank or something). From what I hear their show is really cool. Very technical though, which could make or break them, either with time limits or some technical glitch. Now that I've used the "make or break" cliche, I can also say they'll probably get best visuals/choreography/showmanship/whatever based on what their set is about.
tl;dr, I got a feeling.
Overall it'll be close though, and I wouldn't be surprised if Loveland wins. They've done incredibly well so far. I can also see them getting Best Vocals, going off their previous win records. Haven't heard their set though. Carroll's placement is purely based off previous awards this year. I put Jackson in front of Uniondale because Uniondale haven't performed yet so I honestly have no idea how they'll go, but still hoping they'll go to Nationals.
Prediction
GC: Los Al
1st RU: Loveland
2nd RU: Uniondale
3rd RU: Carrol
Change* Loveland could take Grand Champ! Very much so! Good luck to every group competing at here!
I feel like it's fairly obvious at this point that the top two are going to be Loveland and Los Al... At this point it's just a fight for third. I don't know too much about the other circuits, but encore has been making some serious noise this year, defeating several serious groups. So I wouldn't count them out for the third (2ru) or fourth (3Ru) spot!
The more I see Loveland, the more I'm starting to see how close this competition is going to be...
This. I know it sounds absolutely insane. But Loveland is the real deal.
I was looking at Loveland and Carroll's previous competitions and I wasn't too familiar with most of the groups, so it's hard to make an overall conclusion based off that. I do like Fairfield and I remember thinking they were going to win at the Marysville competition, so Loveland is definitely a group to watch out for.
Los Alamitos' first competition isn't until a week before this one, and I'm wondering if that might affect them. Most choirs start off fine but you do see them improve over the season and Los Al could be at a disadvantage seeing as how Loveland and Carroll would have already performed at three competitions. Still, Los Al (And Burroughs and Burbank) have been in similar situations before and have always placed high, starting the competition season later likely won't have a big impact on their performances.
Oh, I also forgot to rank the girls' groups. I imagine it'll go Los Al, Carroll, Etobicoke, Winston.
I'm looking forward to this year at Fame. Good turnout, even if a lot of my favourites are going to the first Orlando competition. Assuming they place and they decide to go, the Nationals competition could be on the level of the 2013 one.
^ Carroll and Loveland are both off to fantastic starts, so I'd agree with your thoughts for the most part. They look like the top three. But there's a lot of show choir before FAME NY. Carroll and Loveland go head-to-head at Northrop next weekend, so that should provide some insight...
Hey. Hey everybody, look. I'm...I'm gonna make a prediction. Booyah.
I'm too lazy to actually rank my predictions and I'm honestly unfamiliar with Loveland and Carroll other than recognising their names. Lots of people have been saying Loveland is on top of their game and they've started off really well this year. I'm gonna say it's between Los Al and them for first/second place. No idea who'd take third place. I'm hoping for Uniondale as I always liked them since their 2013 set and I'd like to see them go to Nationals, but if I had to guess I'd probably say it'll go to Caroll.
I'm basing all of this off previous competition results, so I honestly have no idea how it'll go.
I think Los Al is not eligible for Best Combo due to adults playing, but, and I am not sure on this, even though their band is adults, they are scored the same, so while Loveland may indeed win best band (they are awesome!) Los Al could score higher?
That sounds correct to me. The caption is just not awarded so that the awards go to the students.
they're both predicting Loveland to take two captions and Los Al to take one caption. Obviously if that were to happen, the scores would be relatively close and so one predicting it Loveland-Los Al and the other Los Al-Loveland really isn't all that different...
