Okay--every week, this lineup has gotten deeper:
Representative groups from the West, Midwest, and the South.
17 GC's between the mixed groups in this season alone (accepting Hart's Tier 2 wins).
14 BC awards between the mixed groups this year.
11 BV awards between the mixed groups this year.
5 BB (band) awards between the mixed groups this year.
4 Show Design/OE awards between the mixed groups this year.
All 6 groups received at least 2 GC's this season.
5 of the groups have gotten no less than 1RU all season.
All 6 groups were GC of their last competitions.
5 of the groups are on a win streak of 2 or more.
2 groups are on a win streak of 4 or more (Marysville--4, Clinton--5).
ATSC's only loss is to an undefeated Johnston.
Marysville's only loss is to Solon early in the season.
Ankeny Centennial's only losses are to Johnston and Waukee early in the season.
Clinton has received BV and BC at their past 5 competitions (including undefeated last year).
Clinton has not lost BC in their past 12 competitions (last loss of BC to WWS in 2011).

Needless to say, this is quite possibly one of the (if not THE) deepest show choir competition this season. It's going to be CRAZY--and (as we saw from FAME NY), I bet there will be a live stream. Now how do the judges pick a top 3, let alone a wildcard out of the remaining 3?

Okay, I gotta make some predictions (and don't crucify me for them!)--
GC: Clinton (Visuals, Show Design, Band)
1RU: ATSC (Vocals)
2RU: Marysville
3RU: Ankeny Centennial (Wildcard)
4RU: Brea Olinda
5RU: Hart

But in all reality, anything could happen.

They should just invite all these choirs to Chicago to make up for the lack of depth at some other competitions
I wish it worked like this. But then of course there'd be groups at other regional competitions that would be offended they weren't invited.

I completely agree with this.

This one is super hard to predict. Every group has gotten grand champion or first runner up at their respective competitions, with the exception of Brea Olinda who got 4th behind Burbank, John Burroughs, and Bonita Vista. If I had to predict it, I'd go with:

GC- Clinton
1RU- Ankeny Centennial
2RU- Westside
3RU- Marysville
4RU- Hart
5RU- Brea Olinda

Obviously these are very blind predictions and I can see it switching up, mainly between Ankeny, Westside, and Marysville. I am only going off of having seen Clinton live as well as what I have seen from the other groups in previous years, as well as their award records. This is sure to be an excellent competition no matter the outcome!

After seeing Spectrum live, there is no doubt in my mind that they would get lower than second. In my opinion, Spectrum should have gotten BV at Kennedy. They were incredible. Period. I have no idea how they start their show laying down, face up, and sing Sleep a capella without a cue in or a conductor. Just stunning.

Not trying to be rude but just because it says Iowa doesn't mean we are from Cedar Rapids. AHST is actually less than an hour away from Omaha and I have personally seen Westside this year as well as Centennial and it would be a close competition between them
If you look at "showqhoir's" profile, he specified living in Cedar Rapids (granted he's not associated with a choir and is probably not telling the truth.) No generalizations here! It's the country's most dense show choir state, so obviously every person isn't from the Cedar Rapids area.

Are you genuinely from AHST HS? Is your name really Peter Pansk? I have a hard time believing that 267 people are associated with AHST HS on here when AHST HS has an enrollment of ~262...

For a tiny school in Iowa, AHST has quite the following on here. And most of us have the critical thinking skills to understand that's a farce. AHST is the first choir in the drop-down menu when folks join SCC and are expected to associate with a school.

As such, Peter, folks are going to have a hard time respecting your opinions and you'll likely receive a good amount of thumbs-down on your posts. We are a strong community and we appreciate authenticity. This is an exceptional community to be a part of and folks that have the illusion of being anonymous are not getting the full experience.

I think this conversation shows the problem in predicting any competition if you haven't seen every group competing. Yes, you can compare ATSC and Centennial, but what about Marysville? Hart and Brea? Clinton? You need to see all of them to make a prediction that's going to be merit-based, otherwise it's just for fun!

I love ATSC but honestly they are not better (at this time) than Spectrum.
Seeing as that you're from Iowa (or at least your profile says that,) I can almost guarantee you haven't seen Omaha live. That is unless you traveled 4 hours to Omaha from Cedar Rapids. I respect your right to predictions, but when you say that a group isn't better than another group without seeing both then it looks bad (unless you have, which would be awesome.) I think your post with predictions got so many downvotes because a majority of people would disagree. Westside is having an incredible year and you put them behind Hart, whom is a Tier II California school. It's very hard to compare choirs and predict the outcomes of these competitions, and I commend you for doing it!

Fun fact of the day: the last time Clinton and Hart competed against each other was in 2008 at Sullivan. Hart won and got Best Vocals.
Hart did beat Clinton, and then lost to Brea Olinda in the same year. Goes to show that Show Choir is crazy

Predictions: Probably Clinton first, I guess? I dunno. I could see Ankeny Centennial taking second, no idea about third. Omaha and Marysville have had good starts, especially Omaha. Brea Olinda always places high at Fame competitions and Hart does well, too. Of course, three of these groups haven't debuted their sets yet so basically...no idea. On any of it. My predictions are vague and terrible.

At this point in time (well I mean we haven't seen how brea and hart are yet but oh well) I think for me it seems like the two locks (I'm using this very loosely) for the top three are Clinton and Omaha Westside. I absolutely love Centennial this year, but Marysville is having a great season in their own right. I'm rooting for the Iowa group (and because I always fall in love with Lester Ray Miller III's shows), but it should be a close one.

Fortunately this falls over my spring break and my parents live in Orlando

So does this mean there won't be a finals?

1. That's amazing and I'm genuinely jealous.

2. Correct. The FAME Show Choir National Championship Series sites do not offer Finals. The idea is that the FAME National Finals serve as the Finals round. This became standardized for all FAME SCNCS sites last year.

The last 'regional FAME event' that had a pretty depth line up, in my opinion, was probably FAME Chicago 2011

True - That was really good, but I think Fame Orlando 2 in 2013 was pretty good as well. Fairfield, Los Al, Franklin Central, Carroll, Troy Buchanon, Jackson Prep, and Hurricane
