Is the auditorium already starting to fill up for the varsity groups? Contemplating coming now vs. just waiting till finals.

O'Gorman's vocals were stellar and their choreography was spot-on. I also loved their rendition of Fairfield 2013's closer!

Wichita was impressive for a first year group! The energy was awesome, but it'll be hard for them to get into finals especially with all of the high caliber groups here and their early performance time.

I'm predicting

1. Omaha Westside "ATSC"
2. Millard West "West in the Groove"
3. Papillion South "Titanium"
4. Elkhorn "Excel"
5. Lincoln Southwest "Resonance"
6. Millard North "Infinity"

Vocals: ATSC
Choreo: West in the Groove
Band: ATSC

The hardest one here is Titanium since it's their first time out competing. Maybe we'll see some placement changes from day to night with them, or any of these groups. I'd love to be there. If anyone is, please let us in on how the shows are.

Speaking of judges, if anyone knows who they are for this competition, that'd be great to know.

Did you compete against them last week or last month? I think a month will make a difference for all groups with all of the critiques from judges.

Omaha has won best choreography at both of the competitions they've went to. I've watched millard west and Omaha both this year. I say Omaha will win, hands down. Omaha has just consistently been the best year in and year out. I doubt that will change at this competition

That is true but I saw their choreography and it isn't super clean. They did win best chereo twice but once was at Ralston where Westside sweeped EVERYTHING and the other was at viterbo which was a very close competition. Their vocals on the other hand will lead them to victory in my opinion.

Piggybacking off of Jared, I'd have to agree that Best Choreography will be hard to take from Westside. But adding on to that, I'd also say that it'll be extremely difficult for anyone to take ANY captions from them. Westside has such a unique and mature sound that I haven't seen matched by any other choir this year, and their choreography throughout the show is so innovative and remarkably clean.

That being said, I'd love to see Millard West steal a caption from Westside (or even win) just because they've got the potential to do so, if they've improved since Midwest Cup. And without making definitive predictions, I wouldn't count out Elkhorn out of the top four of your predictions. Excel has an extremely fun show, and so far it has been the only show that I desperately want to watch again (besides Linn-Mar). Technically speaking, they've got room for improvement that could really impress audiences and judges in the long run. There really isn't another way to describe that show without extensively using the word "fun."

10 days from now, and I absolutely can not wait!

Predictions:
GC: Westside (BV, BC)
1RU: Millard West (BB)
2RU: Lincoln Southwest
3RU: Papillion-La Vista South
4RU: Millard North
5RU: Elkhorn

THIS IS ONE OF THE HARDEST NEBRASKA COMPETITIONS IVE SEEN

I think Millard North could definitely place higher than I have them right now

While I'm pretty sure Elkhorn's got it, we may want to keep an eye on that 5RU spot

After watching Westside live for the first time, it is going to be extremely hard to take BC from them. It'd be easier to take BV than BC from what it seems to me. But both will be incredibly hard regardless of which is easier. Incredible show.

I am in no way an ATSC hater (I am a big fan of them, their shows, and Nebraska show choir as a whole (obviously) ), but at this point, I don't think its very fair to just say ATSC will take choreography just because they have gotten best choreography at their past two competitions. At Ralston, their biggest competition was literally themselves (their three groups claiming GC, 1RU, 2RU), and at Viterbo, it was GCS (still extremely impressive, although this year they only have 28 members, again not saying this is reason for less clean choreography, just less of an overall effect). Millard West has already beaten and gotten best choreography over LSW, Ankeny, Lincoln East, Linn-Mar, etc., and lost all captions at Ankeny to the perpetually dominating Hastings Riverside Company.

I am not doubting ATSC's skills or talent at all, and in fact, I would agree they have consistently been the best in Nebraska in the past. But it's fun to gain more competition in the area, and when black horse groups (like Millard West in 2014 and more recently Elkhorn) get really good in a short period of time, it's fun to make different predictions, so I encourage everyone to think twice before hitting that thumbs down button just because you may have a different opinion/prediction.

All in all, this is still no indicator as to who is ahead in the choreography race. I just wouldn't count anything out at this point Regardless of whether Omaha Westside, Millard West, Papio South, Lincoln Southwest etc. sweeps/wins/loses, whatever happens, all groups should take pride in knowing Nebraska show choir is alive and well. If anything, I believe this all speaks greatly to how far Nebraska show choir has grown in just these past few years. Watching so many groups grow and emerge as Grand Champion-material groups has been a real pleasure. It's truly something to celebrate, and all these amazing groups coming together to compete is really exciting! Can't wait to see how the day turns out and I hope you all make new friends from other schools and enjoy yourselves

I just want to add that Sioux Falls washington was 2.5 Points behind ATSC from receiving best choreography! they are amazing though!

Watch out for Wichita Flight as they were amazing when I saw them a few weeks ago. By far the best group I have seen this year hands down.
Wow, that's awesome! Such a bold statement for such a new group. Lots of cool folks have been working with them, so I'm looking forward to hearing more about "Flight"!
