I can't wait for people to hear Xhil's ballad soloist this year, his name is Logan Brown. His backup, Noah Lauer, won best male soloist at Prairie because Logan was gone, so this will be people's first time hearing Logan!
My friend got on my account and posted this, just a joke haha

To answer the question about finals, the top six scoring groups from the gym will be in finals, as well as the highest scoring group from the auditorium. So there will be seven finalists.

GC: CR Jefferson (BC)
1RU: CR Prairie (BV)
2RU: Davenport Central
3RU: IC City (BB)
4RU: Fort Atkinson
5RU: Xavier
I personally would be shocked if Jefferson doesn't win best vocals
Anyone have any idea how finals work? Are groups in the gym only eligible for finals or are the groups in the auditorium eligible for finals too? I know last year all groups were eligible for finals but that was because everyone performed in the gym.
I was wondering the same thing

Funny story: when I went to Central we called this competition "The Big Fat Chance" up until my Junior year cuz CSI would never make finals. Interesting how things have changed.
We at Davenport West felt the same way for about ten years. So glad both schools finally broke the glass ceiling of Dport schools making finals at Big Dance!
Again, just because Davenport Central got all 6ths at Muscatine, does NOT mean they are bad. It just means everyone else was at a slightly higher level. Considering a lot of people had Prospect predicted at 2nd or 3rd, placing right behind Prospect is NOT a bad placing.
ALSO, this is a TOTALLY different competition than Muscatine. There are way different judges (the Muscatine panel was from ALL over the country) and this is IN DAVENPORT. That's like when Xavier drives down the street for Kennedy, or when Kennedy competes at Linn-Mar. This is a competition that Central enjoys going to, and I'm sure they get a LOT of support at North. There are multiple reasons why people make the predictions they make, and like Adam said, if you disagree with predictions, let them pump you up!!!! Hardly anyone had Momentum in Top 4 at Muscatine and they decided to prove everyone wrong. Let these do the same for you.

Does anyone know if the auditorium judges will be judging finals?
To be honest I don't really understand the low predictions for Xavier. I know I'm biased, but I'll try to just state facts. At Prairie, Xavier beat City High in points, but lost due to the band score counting as a full ranking. So Xavier should not be far off of them. Also, Xavier was placed ahead of Jefferson at Prairie by one judge. When Davenport Central faced Jefferson, not only did not a single judge place them ahead of Jefferson, but Davenport Central was last in every scoring category, both vocals and visuals. And this is subjective, but Xavier has two clinicians coming within the next few days that tend to boost their show MAJORLY. So just saying, I would bet any money in the world that Xavier does not get sixth. I know I'm biased, but just look at the facts I just laid out.
Also wanted to add never rely on the facts in show choir, it's a subjective "sport" and it all depends on judging and the other groups attending the competition. For instance, my senior year, we won linn mar, muscatine, great river and mo-show & then we got last In finals at urbandale against some groups we had already competed against (not to mention that was one hell of a competion with some amazing groups) so like I said dont look at the "facts" before hand, just go out and perform and leave it all out there and let your performance be "the facts"
