Predictions:
GC: Jefferson (BV)
1RU: Prairie (BC)
2RU: Xavier
3RU: City High (BB)
4RU: Davenport Central
5RU: Fort Atkinson
I think that Jefferson will overpower everyone with their vocals. I was not too impressed with Prairie at Prairie (just compared to the last two years), I could really see 1RU-3RU switching any which way, but I'll give Prairie the benefit of the doubt, they always come out strong at the start of the year.
To be honest I don't really understand the low predictions for Xavier. I know I'm biased, but I'll try to just state facts. At Prairie, Xavier beat City High in points, but lost due to the band score counting as a full ranking. So Xavier should not be far off of them. Also, Xavier was placed ahead of Jefferson at Prairie by one judge. When Davenport Central faced Jefferson, not only did not a single judge place them ahead of Jefferson, but Davenport Central was last in every scoring category, both vocals and visuals. And this is subjective, but Xavier has two clinicians coming within the next few days that tend to boost their show MAJORLY. So just saying, I would bet any money in the world that Xavier does not get sixth. I know I'm biased, but just look at the facts I just laid out.
its their opinion and at the top it says blind predictions. I actually agree with their predictions after i have seen most of them, except i would have Xavier 5th or 4th. and i could also see Jeff and prairie switching. i think it will be a great competition!
Again, just because Davenport Central got all 6ths at Muscatine, does NOT mean they are bad. It just means everyone else was at a slightly higher level. Considering a lot of people had Prospect predicted at 2nd or 3rd, placing right behind Prospect is NOT a bad placing.
ALSO, this is a TOTALLY different competition than Muscatine. There are way different judges (the Muscatine panel was from ALL over the country) and this is IN DAVENPORT. That's like when Xavier drives down the street for Kennedy, or when Kennedy competes at Linn-Mar. This is a competition that Central enjoys going to, and I'm sure they get a LOT of support at North. There are multiple reasons why people make the predictions they make, and like Adam said, if you disagree with predictions, let them pump you up!!!! Hardly anyone had Momentum in Top 4 at Muscatine and they decided to prove everyone wrong. Let these do the same for you.
Davenport Central is NEVER given enough credit and ALWAYS underestimated -- their show is FANTASTIC this year (as it is every year), and honestly, it is the only beginning of the competition season. Who knows what could happen?

It's all opinion. Don't fret. People sometimes make predictions more so on "feelings" they have more than what outcomes have already occurred. It's weird- but millions of people also do it daily when gambling. I tell my kids that if predictions worry them so much, to use low ranks in people's predictions as fuel to prove everyone wrong. Also if it helps, I doubt you'll end up that low as well.
GC - CR Jefferson
1RU - CR Prairie
2RU - Iowa City
3RU - Davenport Central
4RU - Fort Atkinson
5RU - Xavier
Could see a possible switch of CR Jefferson and CR Prairie
Could see a possible switch of Fort Atkinson and Xavier

What's the finals schedule supposed to be like?
I don't have exact times but going roughly off of last year's schedule I bet daytime awards will be around 5:30 with the first finalist performing sometime around 7 and final awards will be held at about 10:30
just wanna say, city lights, OH MY GOODNESS.you guys are great this year and i always find myself singing your second song! UGH. loved your show at both linn mar and prairie
I'm really interested to see how this prep division works itself out.
Ovation beat City Lights at Prairie.
City Lights beat Focal Point and Xuberance at Linn-Mar.
Blue Vibrations beat Ovation at Muscatine.
Now, I think Ovation maybe didn't have the best performance at Muscatine, so they could improve easily from what I saw. Focal Point won choreography over City Lights at Linn-Mar. Blue Vibes was very solid. This will be extremely close!!! Also, none of these groups have won a prep division yet! My brain is loving the possibilities!!!! haha
In Davenport Central's defense- they were still very strong at Muscatine. They are at the same level they were last year, just that level ended up being 6th best at Muscatine. That is more a testament to the high level of that competition rather than a knock on Central. I cannot really predict a placing because I have not seen City High, Xavier, or Fort, but Central should not be considered out of this competition because they got 6th at Muscatine. In my opinion, they were not far off Prospect's level.
Agreed. Davenport Central is going to undoubtedly have a GREAT season. Their "on" vocal moments are AWESOME! The show is stellar too. Muscatine was just incredibly tough.

GC- CR Prairie (BV BB)
1RU- CR Jefferson (BC)
2Ru- Davenport Central
3RU- Iowa City
4RU- Fort Atkinson
5RU- Xavier
I feel this is a little unlikely. Jefferson probably has the highest chance of winning, they looked a lot more impressive than Prairie. Also Xavier has a very good chance at beating City High, they beat them in points at Prairie but lost only due to the band score counting as a full ranking. Davenport Central might not place high as well, they did not do that well at Muscatine last week.
Can't wait to make the trip from Cedar Rapids! This will be my first time ever competing and I couldn't ask for a better competition to do that! Great line up and it's been hard not to want to preform and compete for so long! Gonna be a great weekend!
Looking at the schedules, I'm assuming it's because they want us to be able to support each other and these are the only times that would work(Which is great) but I have never seen a prep group perform AFTER their Varsity. Regardless, I'm looking forward to a great weekend of show choir!
