My Predictions:
GC: Waukee (BV,BC)
1RU: Johnston
2RU: Xavier (BB)
3RU: IC High
4RU: Kennedy
5RU: Jefferson
I have thought long and hard about this. A lot of everyone's thoughts have been great to look at, but I think that this could be a very close competition.
Not gonna lie, Xavier looked really good at their preview show. And I heard Kennedy has stepped it up as well. This should be a heck of a competition, and I'll update my predictions based on preview shows and what I've heard.

5RU: Johnston
For prep, Protege looks to be very strong once again, but Ovation could also take 1st for prep.
I think that it is possible for Xavier to steal Best Ballad. We have a reputation for great genuine ballads and I hope that swings in our favor again this year.

^^^ Ya, but blind, random predictions are always fun. Plus you can brag if you accidentally get one right!!!! (btw I have only gotten 1 prediction right EVER so don't judge me on these!!!!)
GC: Waukee
1RU: Johnston
2RU: IC High
3RU: Kennedy
4RU: Jefferson
5RU: Xavier
its anyone's game. its a new year with new shows and new members of groups, yes based on past results you can make some what of a prediction but in all reality, you cant make a prediction with out seeing this years group. sorry to rant but it bugs the crap out of me! RANT OVER. I hope everyone has a great holiday season and see you at premiere!
Honestly I have no clue how this competition is going to go. I can see the placements going so many different ways here cause I feel groups are gonna fair against each other a whole lot differently this year than they did last year. I'll still take a swing at predictions though cause who doesn't like some blind, preseason predictions??

After seeing Jefferson's preview show, I must say that Jefferson's guys this year are absolutely amazing! Let's get some other way too early predictions in here!

I bet the same could be said for ANY of the groups attending this competition. Fall previews are just that... previews of what is to come. Held normally in November/December a good chunk of time BEFORE the most crucial rehearsal hours that lead up to competitions. Those weeks before competition season shows change, choreography really starts to come together, vocals become more about artistry rather than just making sure everyone has their part down, and the band goes from zero to hero. Costumes, crew, props, are all added and make a world of difference. I would not count Kennedy out... especially because supposedly that is the school you are a fan of.
And also, yes I understand how fall previews work, I've been around show choir for a while. I didn't say that their show at that moment wouldn't put them in the running for this competition, but rather what I meant was that based upon their preview, I did not see the potential to improve to the point of competing with groups such as Waukee and Xavier and City High. And just because Kennedy is my favorite group does not mean I have to be unrealistic with my expectations this year for them, I'm simply stating what I believe to be true, and that does not include bias just because I like them more.

I guess I'm just a little more critical of my favorite group after they didn't win last year for the first time in a few years
