So once someone sees Clinton's show, you're more than welcome to call me about it.

Does anyone know if small mixed or women's groups are eligible for finals if they score high enough? I'm asking because they have separate awards times.

Womens group is going to be good I think Enterprise Esprit will take this one with Auburn then South Jones
It should actually be pretty close!!! That's good it's hard to find a good competition between women's groups (in Mississippi at least)!!

Albertville will have to beat prep thoroughly in vocals to win this one.

I agree with this. I think if Albertville comes out with phenomenal vocals, they can beat Jackson Prep. Both are great shows. To me the showdown is for 2nd place between Albertville and Prep. I haven't got to see South Jones this year and haven't really heard much, but I think they'll come in a close 4th place. As for the last finalist, I really don't know. I'm thinking it'll be Enterprise, but Opelika beat them at Tallassee and have had 3 weeks (so has Albertville, I might add) to prepare for Homewood. I still give the edge to Enterprise.

I'm predicting:

GC- Clinton (sweep)
1RU- Jackson Prep/Albertville (depending on vocals)
2RU- Jackson Prep/Albertville
3RU- South Jones
4RU- Opelika

Small mixed:
GC- Brandon (BC, possibly BV)
1RU- Donelson Christian (possibly BV, overall effect)
2RU- Albertville

Womens:
GC- Auburn (BV, BC, overall effect
1RU- South Jones
2RU- Enterprise

Prep might could grab best choreography because it is Clinton's first competition, but I seriously doubt it.
Impossible.

Might as well throw out some predictions:

GC Clinton (Sweep)
1RU Jackson Prep
2RU Albertville
3RU South Jones
4RU Donelson/Brandon (Why not?) I'm just saying that Brandon is killing it this year their choreo is untouchable in middle division

Middle Division:
GC Donelson (BV)
1RU Brandon (BC, Best Overall Effect)
2RU Tarpon Springs? Maybe...

I finally get to predict one! HAHAHA The difference between first and second in the middle mixed division for this one is going to be if Donelson's vocals are good enough to put them over Brandon's unbelievable choreography and overall effect scores. The points are obviously on the score card to pull it off, but I'm just saying from personal experience that their choreo has been the deciding factor for them.

As for the large division... Clinton should take this. Prep might could grab best choreography because it is Clinton's first competition, but I seriously doubt it. I have similar feelings about Prep and Albertville as mine for Donelson and Brandon. Albertville will have to beat prep thoroughly in vocals to win this one.

Edit: I'm personally cheering for a Madison Central comeback! I am adamant that once they get the kinks worked out in their vocal that they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Predictions:

GC: Clinton (Best Vocals, Best Visuals, Tie for Show)
1RU: Jackson Prep
2RU: Albertville (Tie for Show)
3RU: SJ
4RU: Oak Mountain

SJ definitely could jump Albertville (happened at Petal last year). Jackson prep is doing un-surprisingly well this year--the only group I could see snagging a caption from Clinton in coming years, if they continue to improve. Still impressed with Oak Mountain enough for them to make finals. --then let's also remember Donelson.

What you mean?

I previously had Clinton, Madison Central, Albertville, Jackson Prep, and South Jones in finals (with a chance of Enterprise being in instead of SJ). This weekend has shaken that up for me though. The biggest shake up is Madison Central not making finals at South Jones. I had them in 1RU and now I'd say it's a stretch for them to make finals/place as high as 1RU. They could improve greatly though! Another shake up is Enterprise placing 3RU at Tallassee. I thought they were awesome though, and like Madison Central could come back and do well at this competition! The final shake up is Jackson Prep beating Homewood at South Jones, ending their GC streak in the southern circuit. As of right now based on results thus far, my finalist predictions are (in no order):

Clinton
Albertville
South Jones
Jackson Prep
Enterprise

Even though Enterprise placed lower than Opelika this weekend, I think they will be able to improve and make finals here.

I'd have to say right now the top 2 will probably be Clinton and Jackson Prep. I'll post my full predictions once we get closer to time!

edit: spelling mistakes.

Mr. Wilson has done a phenomenal job. I didn't know what to expect when I heard we were getting a new director. Let's just say I'm amazed at how far we've gotten with Mr. Wilson. I'm so anxious to see what competition season will bring for us and everybody else.

Obviously not in the right forum to say this, but I can't wait for y'alls competition this week! And I'm excited to see your show this year because what you said has been the general feeling I have been getting from people from South!

Chris Wilson did great things for Oak Mountain and I expect the same from SJ. It's just one of those things where I won't believe it till I see it, you know?

You may be 100% correct, and it wouldn't surprise me if it did happen this way. I think it's between Donelson Christian, Brandon, West Jones, and Albertville for sure. The main reason my 2RU is between Albertville and West Jones is because although I haven't seen them this year, I heard they aren't what they were last year (However this can be said for any group). Also, Albertville CenSations has held 3rd place at Homewood since 2011.

I'm so sad we are missing this middle group blood bath.

I might disagree with the small mixed.... I would say
GC - Donelson Christian Academy (BV)
1RU - West Jones (BC) - I mean Shaun is alive and kicking in them hahaha
2RU - Brandon Brio (Best Overall Effect)

Just from living in this division for so long... I feel like this will be pretty close... West is always really clean and not too shabby vocally! As for Brandon we both agree that they should have a cool show! One thing I didn't take into account that comes into play here is performance time. Not so much the judges skewing points through the day as the difference between competing at 8 and 10 after a hotel stay/early morning bus ride.

Small Mixed Predictions:
GC- Donelson Christian Academy "Legacy" (BV, BC)
1RU- Brandon "Brio" (Best overall effect)
2RU- Albertville "CenSations!"/West Jones "Imagination"

That is assuming Donelson Christian is as good as they were last year.

Womens:
GC- Auburn "Elan" (BV, BC, best overall effect)
1RU- South Jones "New Edition"
2RU- Enterprise "Esprit"
