The Mt. Vernon mystery has been solved! Final results are posted above. It looks like it ended up being a decent competition despite Rock Bridge hosting a competition the same day, so that's good for Mt. Vernon. It also looks like the Neosho "Choraleers" prevented Joplin from a clean sweep of the awards! Hope they all had a good debut.
Any news on this one? Obviously most Missouri show choirs seem to be attending Rock Bridge, but MVHS sent out a tweet a couple hours ago that said:
Make plans to attend the MVHS Mid-Winter Show Choir Festival tomorrow (Sat) from 11:00-8:30 @ the MARC. MV performs at 7:30
So apparently it's happening. Any information would be appreciated.
I believe it was changed to this Saturday, Jan 18th. Several of the groups were already committed to Rockbridge that would normally have gone so most of them cancelled. I'd imagine it will now be a pretty small event with only 1A, 2A and 3A schools (unless they pull in Springfield schools but I don't believe Springfield is big on show choir at all and never have competing groups). It appears the only group in the area not going to Rockbridge is Joplin. I'd guess they'd be there unless they had something else this Saturday before the date changed.
Does anyone have any information about this event? The competition was originally slated to be today. Is it still happening? Was it cancelled? Anything?
