Look at you, Millard North! A few years back when this group was just starting, I saw them at Westwood's competition and I said to my best friend Kelsey that this group had the potential to be something special. I know it's just one competition, but it seems that this might finally be the breakout year for you guys after two solid seasons.

Similar to Millard North, it is pleasing to see Elkhorn South compete with one of the traditionally better choirs of the midwest in Ankeny. The Omaha metro has been dominated by Westside for a long time, but I just can never get over the growth of the suburb schools and how far each of them have come over the past five years. Show choir in Nebraska has never been better and it is still improving each year.

Congratulations to Urbandale and Ankeny on their respective finishes. Making Iowa proud!

And a special congratulations to mah homie Liz from SF Washington ClaCo on making finals!

6RU: Sioux Falls Washington
5RU: Grand Island Northwest
4RU: Norris
3RU: Elkhorn South
2RU: Ankeny
1RU: Millard North
GC: Urbandale

Ankeny and Elkhorn South tied but the tie was broken by a meeting of the judges after finals.

Did Blair change their women's show choir name this year? In the past it has been "Encore" so just wondering. If so I can change it in the system.

Ankeny splitting into two schools didn't affect anything. They just murdered their performance.

Atchison was a very nice surprise. Fun songs and some clean choreography! Definitely a contender for finals.
Same goes for West Branch! Lots of energy and good sound.
Haha I love it when I'm pleasantly surprised by groups I don't know much about/haven't seen!
It's gonna be a TOUGH fight for those Finals Runner Up spots.

What I'm personally predicting for finals is:

GC: Ankeny (A Finalist)
1RU: Urbandale (AA Finalist)
2RU: Elkhorn South
3RU: Norris (C Finalist)
4RU: Millard North
5RU: Ralston
6RU: Grand Island NW (B Finalist)

Now, it could be a close competition in the top three spots from what the last few years have shown, so I could see those changing a bit.
If Norris performs like the have in recent years that spot is pretty set for them I think. After that Ralston, Millard North, and GINW could really go either way.
It's also very possible that schools like Elkhorn and Washington Sioux Falls could beat out Ralston and/or Millard North for two of those spots in Finals.

Either way, I'm super excited to see everyone tomorrow and I know that everyone is going to do fantastic.
I'll be there bright and early tomorrow so I can see every group perform! (It's the first competition on the season for me, so I can't NOT go for the whole day. )

My director is judging here and she just received the schedule. The main difference is that the schedule she received has Norris competing in the C/Tier 4 division. Its a minor change but it could make a decent sized change on finalists.
