DanvilleDirector13, I know many Waubonsie kids was very sad not to be able to make the trip down. These kids love Danville and know each other from SCA. Many parents feel bad because of all the work you put into this weekend. You have always been terrific hosts. And you are correct, Mother Nature had a different plan.
Hello! While today transpired entirely differently than we expected it to, we ended up having a very rewarding morning and afternoon of show choir! Southmont Panache, Southmont Young Originals, and Hoopeston New Edition were able to perform in our auditorium and get a special clinic done by our amazing judging panel. Each group got at least 20 minutes of live feedback on the stage by our judges and the day ended up working as a mini-masterclass.
Middle school placements were:
GC: Sullivan Singers Jr.
1RU: Edgewood Young Originals
2RU: Caruso Charisma
3RU: Southmont Young Originals
Thanks to everyone who came out to support our event! We are sorry so many groups couldn't make it - Mother Nature had a different plan for us this weekend.

Thanks, Morgan, for that information. Do you or anyone else know who the other 2 choirs that still attended were? If we get all 4 choirs we can post that above and mark this competition as a workshop instead of a competitive event.

Today there were four groups able to make it, and two of the groups were Southmont Panache and Sudden Impulse. Rather than a competition, it was more of a workshop complete with onstage critique from the judges. We did have the solo competition. The Friday middle school competition was not cancelled and continued as scheduled. The only results I know from it is that Southmont Young Originals revieced 3rd Runner-Up out of six groups and People's Choice.
According to the local newspaper, the competition has been cancelled. Danville's show choirs will perform for the public in the afternoon.
Correct. The Sullivan Singers Facebook page also confirmed the cancellation of this event, but noted that it could be rescheduled in April. For the time being, this event has been marked as cancelled.
Can anyone confirm if yesterdays middle school competition was also cancelled? I'm not sure when all the bad weather hit.
Chicagoland Ambassadors will no longer be attending. Manteno will be unable to attend due to the weather.
Thanks for letting us know. Certainly unfortunate. Pretty wild for Manteno, too, originally planned for Davenport North's competition this weekend, then switched to this competition, and now not attending any at all.
