1Ru: Waubonsie (bc)
2Ru: Buffalo Grove
3Ru: Auburn
4Ru: Mitchell
5Ru: Omaha Westside

However, this is an Illinois competition. As such, i think they judges will have Waubonsie sweep because of their style. I strongly believe Burbank deserves to win though. Their musicality and vocals overall are amazing. Plus their choreo and show are great as well. Waubonsie doesnt have the same musicality and it seems like they more yell. All of the groups are great though and congrats in advance.

I finally got a chance to get on here to comment on the competition!

One more comment before I talk about some of the groups, I was a little shocked going through twitter after the competition ended. Sometimes I think people forget that they're representing a school/show choir /area/yourself through whatever they post, and I was so disappointed reading some tweets Saturday night into Sunday. No matter if you win or lose, or the group you liked won or lost, you shouldn't be posted mean, rude, and completely inappropriate things online. Show choirs to do this to perform- not to win, and especially at this competition, every single group worked so hard to get where they are. These kids are high school students and they do read those tweets. Imagine how that would make them feel if you called their win a fluke or say that they didn't deserve to win or make finals.

Thank you!

I finally got a chance to get on here to comment on the competition!

I want to start off saying one thing, this competition was absolutely insane. As everyone has said, every single group was absolutely incredible and left their hearts on that stage. In my years of attending show choir competitions, I've never seen so many amazing groups in one day! They all had different shows that had something cool and distinct about them. I would have hated to be a judge that day- I would've named everyone grand champions!

With that off my chest, here are my thoughts on some of the group!

A huge congratulations to Waubonsie Valley Sound Check, it was a well deserved win! Prelims show was great but finals... holy cow. I've never gotten so many goosebumps. Their ballad brought me close to tears. Vocals were out of this world, something we can always expect from WV and Mark Myers. I saw some people were saying they sounded like they were shouting on the live feed- definitely not at all what they sounded like in the gym. Their choreography was fun to watch (as Dwight's always is). I think one of the coolest things about Waubonsie Valley is their musicality, style, and diversity. But the energy was electrifying. It constantly made me want to jump out of my seat and get on that stage with them! One more thing about Waubonsie- they're just great kids. Mark Myers is definitely teaching some great things at that school.

And Burbank... another holy cow there. My entertainment dollar exploded in my pocket! Vocals and choreography were on par as always with that group and there were constant surprises throughout the show that made it super interesting. Not to mention it was just hilarious. Those kids can really perform!

Buffalo Grove's show was so different and my eyes were glued on the stage. I don't think I even blinked. The outfits, the set, the everything. But most of all, that ballad. When they first started off playing "For Good" I thought, "Alright, here we go again" but then that soloist went on and I think I almost cried at that one too. It was so touching! Everyone is talking about that ballad soloist, that guy's voice was breathtaking.

Those were all of my major comments, I thoroughly enjoyed all the shows that day. And I don't even know if we can call it a competition- every group was completely different and all so so so good. Until next year, everyone!

The best competition I have seen in the 5 years I have been following show choir. From inside the auditorium I thought Burbank, WV and BG were in for sure but could see several others for the last 3 spots. The 3 that made it were deserving but I could easily see MTZ and Solon as well.. I thought all the groups were great in finals but one stood apart for me and that was Burbank. There show was so entertaining and their vocalists were incredible. Congrats to WV on their win but if I had to pay to see a show again it would be Burbank's.
I saw that their* show is on YouTube! But sadly, I haven't had time to watch it. Can't wait to see what everyone is raving about!

Anyone know what songs Burbank sang? A lot sound incredibly familiar but they changed most of the lyrics so it's difficult to find them.

The on-demand stream at http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/92289 doesn't work anymore... ( I was saving it for a perfect time to play it when I was free and now it's gone.

Also, everyone's comments about Burbank's being the most entertaining - that's what I love about them and they're my favourite. They do shows that are for the audience and not necessarily for the judges.

I'd pay a healthy sum of money to get a copy of this competition in it's entirety. Can anybody hook a brotha up?

Imma need about tree fiddy

It was about that time when I realized Brett Carrol was actually a 500ft tall reptile from the Paleolithic era.
