yikes, looks like Waubonsie has this one. Burbank sounded great but the dancing is simple and this whole self-referencial thing has been done before. I think Clinton will be them both when they go out there.
I think you missed the point of their show that it's not about first place - it's about doing what you enjoy. While the "self-referencial" thing has been done before, Burbank put their own unique stamp on it and they committed to it. A show choir performing a show about a show choir performing a show. Show choir ception.
It was an excellent show and there are a lot of excellent choirs competing here. Saying "yikes" is disrespectful as it will simply be an enormous honor to simply make Finals here.
And it was offensive too. I feel sorry for their hard working set crew. They have to work and do their job while their director and singers are making fun of them. Sad show.
Luckily, I think the tech crew has a sense of humor.....
**Sidenote: I know it's a rule at some competitions--that the director may come on stage but cannot sing with his/her group. I don't know if that's a rule here, but Mr. Carroll definitely sang into a mic.

My favorite thing about their show was the choreography in the opener. I don't usually like hats. Like ever. But it was clean and the lines were impeccably clean.
Also, it's really gutsy to put guys in white.
I also was taken back a bit when I first saw Papillion South doing Titanium.
But, I think if any choir would be allowed to do that song after Ankeny did it, it would be Papillion South. Just because they've always been called "Titanium". And when they sang "we are Titanium", I thought it was cool, not corny.
