will all make it into the finals. The rest is a complete wildcard. There is no way of knowing who will get that 6th spot by merely analyzing placement at competitions. It could be the undefeated Mitchell, or the always clean Westside, or the just starting the season prospect, or any other one of the amazing groups in attendance. It will be a nail biter. Adrenaline will be pumping fast and knees will be shaking fast when the groups are waiting for finalists to be announced. I truly am extremely excited to compete at this one!
I'll wait another week until I make real predictions. Waiting to see what happens at Glenwood. I'm thinking that finals is going to end up with 3 definite groups (the undefeated) and 3 wild cards (really could be anybody). Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be a scoring error--so we can get 7 finalists. Lol.
I agree! Show choir competition have been incredibly unpredictable this year (which just goes to show that show choir has never been more alive and thriving - how exciting!) I am definitely gonna be watching this live feed.

I think they mean the stage is small? I've performed on it, and it does get a little bit tight, but it shouldn't be too big of an issue for a well-prepared group.
That and it isn't the biggest gym in the world. If I am remebering right the distance between the stage and the wall behind the judges isn't that long

Honestly though, this competition will always come down to two things.
1) What are the judges looking for that day
2) Which groups can adapt to Wheaton's close quarter's performing space (at least, it was like that when I was attended in 2012)

I'm really excited to see this competition, so many good groups going! This is how I think it'll turn out (although I am positive I will be wrong):
GC: Waubonsie Valley
1RU: Burbank
2RU: Buffalo Grove
3RU: Mt. Zion
4RU: Prospect (have they not competed yet this year?)
5RU: Mitchell/Solon
I haven't seen anyone but Solon yet this year so I'm basing a lot of this on current records and what I saw last year. I also think the judges/style of groups will play a part in how this one turns out.
No we have not competed yet, Chicagoland showcase is our first competiton this year
