You are invited to Springfield, Illinois to participate in the 2014 Capital City "Sound Explosion" Show Choir Competition held at Springfield-Southeast High School. This competition is designed to provide a fun, and educational opportunity for your groups. The post-performance clinic is an important element for group's proformace. We offer experienced professionals to run our clinic. They are enthusiastic about working with each and every group. I find that the clinics reinforce ideas that I have introduced in the classroom, and also provide a fresh perspective and creative suggestions for continued improvement.
Your students will enjoy a fun-filled day, which includes:
- Warm up room with 16-platform risers.
- Perform on an auditorium stage (great sound no matter the size of your group) with 3x3, 3x4, or 4x4 platform staging.
- Post-performance clinic provides immediate feedback from experienced adjudicators.
- Preliminary awards given to middle school, Single-Gender, and mixed groups based on years of experience and size of group.
- Top six high school groups participate in the evening finals competition.
- Solo competition for middle school and high school participants. Groups are not limited to a specific number of soloists, so every interested student can enjoy a solo experience.
- The top three soloists are recognized at preliminary awards. Middle and High School winners will perform live on the auditorium stage.
- "Outstanding Performer" medal for one individual in each group.
