everyone did a great job, we have come a long way as a show choir state since I was in school. Hopefully bigger things to come!

Thanks, everyone, results are posted above.

Well, they are TECHNICALLY in their own division, but since they were the only ones there today, I included them in these results, as their award was given out at the same time

Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks, to both of you, for the small mixed results. Question in regard to Nitro "Sophisticats" ... so they competed in the Small Mixed division, did not place, but received that caption? I'm assuming that's what the set up was instead of a separate division since you included it under the "Small Mixed Results." Can you confirm, though?

I mentioned this before, but does anyone know who the judges will be?
It isn't posted on the WVMEA website so either a director or a student attending would probably be our best bet to be so kind to post that information.

I'm going to States instead of watching the Los Alamitos live feed so there better be some fireworks!

Tier I Predictions
GC: Cabell Midland
1RU: Martinsburg
2RU: Hurricane
3RU: Riverside

Tier II Predictions
GC: Poca
1RU: Nitro
2RU: Ravenswood
3RU: Buffalo

There will be a few groups that I have never seen before (GW, Jefferson, Liberty), so I'm pretty stoked to see how it goes down.

Yeah, that makes sense and is pretty typical of "state" competitions. I just wondering.

Speaking of Winfield, is there a reason why they haven't competed this season except for today?

not a clue, they do some things now outside of the competition show that they didn't do when I was there. They went one year where they didn't compete at all.

some don't go for a lot of different reasons. Capital hasn't been since 2003 and Morgantown and Saint Albans have shown up occasionally. Last year was the first time Winfield had been since 2005.

Thanks for the schedule, it has been updated above. I know not all schools choose to attend state competitions, but I noticed Capital, Saint Albans, and Morgantown are a few prominent names that apparently decided not to compete. Any reason?

Capital has not gone since 2003 and will not go back. TOO Much Drama and directors throw fits and it's not a very pleasant day. So our director doesn't put the kids through that. Although I believe they would do well this year. Cabell Midland is amazing and I am hoping they are will take the title.

I'm not exactly sure what the reason is. Capital has done extremely well this year, so I was surprised they aren't attending. Does anyone know who the judges will be?
