They've had one the last two years so I would think so... but I'm not positive

I believe it is at Http://www.ihigh.com/wwshs

What if Buffalo Grove sneaks up and takes this one... I've heard very good things about their show. Wouldn't that be interesting ;)

My personal opinion:
GC: Clinton (BC,BB)
1ru: Waubonsie Valley (BV)
2ru: Buffalo Grove
3ru: Urbandale
4ru: Mitchell
5ru: Prospect

2. I would be willing to bet against Clinton at this competition. No question they're still the favorite, but no group to me has emerged that can sing better than Waubonsie Valley. Not to mention Buffalo Grove usually sings very well and will put up very good scores.

I think that's pretty spot on. And it's kind of why I'm leaning towards WV winning GC here with best vocals. I almost have no doubt Clinton will take best choreography - and maybe that will be enough to win, but I just have a sense that vocals are going to be key here this weekend. As for my total guess? Here goes nothing!

GC: Waubonsie Valley w/bv
1ru: Clinton, w/ bc
2ru: Urbandale
3ru: Buffalo Grove
4ru: Mitchell, SD
5ru: Prospect

I can only make prelims (well, mostly - I have a performance downtown that evening, but it lets out early - so I'm hoping things go massively behind so I can zoom back out the burbs again and catch perhaps the last 2 performances in finals). So - somebody, pull a fire alarm or something (in between groups of course) to delay the whole thing a good 30 min to an hour (KIDDING! Sort of...)

Does anyone know how many adults (non-students) are in Clinton's instrumental ensemble this year?
From what I collect, it is just the instrumental director and Mr. Fehr on piano as usual.

This is exactly what I was telling my friend earlier.

Predictions:

GC: Clinton
1RU: Waubonsie Valley
2RU: Buffalo Grove
3RU: Urbandale
4RU: Mitchell
5RU: Eisenhower

I could also see Prospect or Danville sneaking into that 6th spot as well though.

For once we are thinking alike. This is exactly my same prediction!

Predictions for the top 2:

GC: Clinton (BC, BB)
1RU- WV (BV)

I can see Clinton winning overall but loosing vocals. However I'v only seen WV on youtube and Clinton twice. But I do know that in just a weeks time between Homewood and Petal, Clinton's vocals improved a lot! I can only imagine what they sound like now and wouldn't put it past them to get BV.

I'm bummed that I can't be at Wheaton, because the energy in the auditorium is going to be electric.

Can you explain Burroughs' theme?
Yes I could.

I Know! We'll have regional competitions and then a Final for who qualified at those regionals and then we'll have a national champion! Lets call it........FAME lol :p
Haha, touché.

Just once we have to convince all of these groups to get together for an event someday and just have the biggest show choir blowout ever. Just once.

Aye, that was one of Burroughs' best shows. Of course Clinton turned around and beat them in 2010 at Fairfield and then last year at Los Al. Then again, Powerhouse bested them in 2008 at FAME Chicago as well. The level of competition is so fun!

I really wish both groups were competing against each other this year... Burroughs' show is just stunning. A total 180 from last year's concept (but being unpredictable is what they are great at, for better or worse). I'm bummed that I can't be at Wheaton, because the energy in the auditorium is going to be electric. Los Al is going to be amazing, too. Just once we have to convince all of these groups to get together for an event someday and just have the biggest show choir blowout ever. Just once.
