2009 was the last time, I believe it was Powerhouse that beat them
Aye, that was one of Burroughs' best shows. Of course Clinton turned around and beat them in 2010 at Fairfield and then last year at Los Al. Then again, Powerhouse bested them in 2008 at FAME Chicago as well. The level of competition is so fun!

I really wish both groups were competing against each other this year... Burroughs' show is just stunning. A total 180 from last year's concept (but being unpredictable is what they are great at, for better or worse). I'm bummed that I can't be at Wheaton, because the energy in the auditorium is going to be electric. Los Al is going to be amazing, too. Just once we have to convince all of these groups to get together for an event someday and just have the biggest show choir blowout ever. Just once.

Just out of curiosity, how long has it been since a group beat Clinton?

I'm not betting against Clinton until they lose. Period. Being from the South you get to see not only the show every year but you get to see the professionalism and discipline in EVERYTHING they do year after year; arriving, getting ready, setting up, performing, taking down and setting awards. It's almost scary.. They are the Alabama Crimson Tide of show choir (whether that is good or bad for show choir is another discussion).

2 things

1. I wouldn't say Clinton is the Crimson Tide of show choir because they haven't completely dominated like Bama has in a while. I also love Clinton's shows, as opposed to my utter disdain for anything having to do with the SEC

2. I would be willing to bet against Clinton at this competition. No question they're still the favorite, but no group to me has emerged that can sing better than Waubonsie Valley. Not to mention Buffalo Grove usually sings very well and will put up very good scores.

Of course then again, I'm going to this one, so I won't really know until Saturday

Predictions:

GC: Clinton
1RU: Waubonsie Valley
2RU: Buffalo Grove
3RU: Urbandale
4RU: Mitchell
5RU: Eisenhower

I could also see Prospect or Danville sneaking into that 6th spot as well though.

Did some research and these are my predictions:

GC: Buffalo Grove BV
1RU: Clinton BC
2RU: Waubonsie Valley
3RU: Urbandale
4RU: Mitchell
5RU: Eisenhower

If we take out Clinton and specifically look at last year's (obviously a lot can change) head to head results we get.

1st: Waubonsie Valley (BV)
1RU: Buffalo Grove (BC)
2RU: (-1.5)Urbandale (BB)
3RU: (Beat Urby daytimes at TG comp last year) Mitchell
4RU:Eisenhower
5RU:Danville

Obviously there are differences from last to this year and you'll have to throw Clinton in there. Just to aid perspective.

I'll go (and I'll probably be wrong haha)

GC: Clinton (BC, BB)
1RU: Waubonsie Valley (BV)
2RU: Buffalo Grove
3RU: Urbandale
4RU: Decatur (Eisenhower)
5RU: Prospect

I really cannot wait for the competition. All the groups going are amazing. I can't wait to see Clinton live again and it'll be awesome getting to see Waubonsie Valley who I haven't seen this year. This will be so much fun!

I'm offended. I get being placed behind Kevin and Adam...they're show choir icons, but putting me behind Taylor is just hurtful.

Thank you for the "icon" comment. I look forward to accepting the FAME Lifetime Achievement award this year.

Predictions

Mixed
GC: Clinton (Vocals, Choreo)
1RU: Waubonsie Valley
2RU: Buffalo Grove
3RU: Urbandale
4RU: Prospect
5RU: Eisenhower

Women's
GC: Waubonsie Valley (Vocals)
1RU: Danville (Choreo)
2RU: Prospect

This is an impossible competition to predict due to both the fact that many of these groups have not previously gone head to head and the lopsided schedule. I don't think Clinton has this in the bag by any means. WV is my favorite choir that I've seen live and they could surely pull of an upset, and with BG snagging best vocals over Wheaton last weekend they seem poised for a victory as well. Even Urbandale could win this. That being said I think at the end of the day, this is what the judges will decide.

While most years I would agree, this year I hear Taylor's show has a killer ending. I haven't seen it personally, but I've gathered it involves a roof, a body slam, and a folding chair. It's a real show stopper.

Just curious as to what groups attending allow Freshman through Seniors to be in the group.
We do not specifically exclude freshmen from Studio, but it's rare that they would make it in. We had 3 freshmen boys last year to make up for a few upperclassmen that decided not to return. We don't have any this year.

I know that in 2010 at Show Choir Nationals I was chatting with some of the kids from Clinton "Attache" and at least one of them was a freshman girl, so I'm gonna assume they allow freshmen.
