GC: Los Alamitos
1RU: Fairfield
2RU: Franklin Central
3RU/Alternate: Carroll
I would have to agree with this prediction and will take it one more step. I PREDICT that the SINGLE GENDER competition will follow suit with the exact same order of finish.
I'm really excited to see Franklin Central. Haven't seen your guys' set on YouTube but I'm hearing great things about it. Fairfield is also really brilliant. Seeing your guys' opening really gave me chills. Best of luck to the both of you and the rest of the choirs!
I do think there should be more finalist slots, though.
I would agree. Probably my biggest critique on the FAME operations this year (I posted a bit about it in the Chicago thread). They will likely announce 4RU and 5RU, but they won't perform in finals.
Fairfield
Franklin Central
Jackson Prep
Los Alamitos
This is one of the tougher FAME qualifiers in my opinion. It could go a number of different ways.
I do think there should be more finalist slots, though.
The event has been updated above and the schedule is posted below as well. I definitely think this is the best qualifier this year, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. I think I still stand by my previous statement, though. And if anyone has judge information, please share.

I really like Fairfield PE show this year! Good luck to everyone!
Whoever chose the song selection has some great taste.
Josh Greene arranged Fairfield's show this year (and also last year). He arranges for Burbank as well, so he's pretty creative and awesome from my point of view.
But yeah, I totally agree with everything you posted. My personal favorite moment of their show is "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" by The Offspring. So much raw energy and emotion.
I only watched all of it together once and typically it takes a few viewings before it all comes together and you notice the little details that explain the story. Après Moi (By one of my favourite singers, Regina Spektor. Whoever chose the song selection has some great taste.) did make me think of the Nazi's with the chorus (Fear the lame, old, cold) but I figured the actual holocaust would be a tad too dark for show choir. I figured it was about some Nazi-esque regime dictatorship trying to ban music/free speech or something. This causes an uprise but the leader is betrayed by the Play On soloist and put in the detention camp.
So I guess I was semi-right.
The Swing Kids stuff makes a lot of sense though.
And I agree, I love it when show choirs have sets that tell these stories. They're my favourite "genre" (For lack of a better word) of show choir. With some it feels like every time you watch it you learn something new.
I'm watching Fairfield's set on YouTube and I'm really liking it. But what is their story about?
I really liked it as well and have my own ideas. So, what do you think it's about? The great thing about show choir is that each person can interpret it differently and be told a different story through the same show.
There was a press release a few weeks ago and this is how the Choraliers show was described:
Fairfield Choraliers: “The Final Stand.” Loosely based on the Swing Kids of Hamburg and Berlin during World War II – with a twist. It’s set in the future when another regime is coming to power
Obviously this just gives a setting/context to the story and doesn't explain the Choraliers storyline, but I think that's for each person to decide for themselves what it means, because there isn't one right answer.
I'm really hoping I'm able to make the trip down to see this. This is not a competition I want to miss. At the season's start I had no doubt in my mind that top three at this competition would be Los Al, Fairfield and FC and no one else really had a chance. I still am pretty sure that will be the top three, but after watching the way Carroll has progressed this season, and seeing them reign in 3 Grand Champions, I have a lot more faith that they have a fighting chance. I try not to be biased because I am an alumni, but seeing what they've done this season is incredible and I'm thrilled for them to bring this show to Orlando and show that they're not just some small town show choir.
