And to see shows from outside of my regular circuit!

Oh yes, that too (: lol it's going to be a really cool experience I think (:

Well, Arizona doesn't really have a circuit to begin with. Or if there are competitions, they aren't represented on here. It seems strange. There are a handful of show choirs in Arizona (Horizon, Notre Dame, Studio3, LIGHT, Willow Canyon) and in New Mexico (Eldorado, La Cueva, Sandia, Volcano Vista, etc.). NM has more than AZ, but I don't get why there aren't competitions in the Southwest. I mean, there's the NM State contest and La Cueva hosted a competition this year, but really, the Southwest schools truly could host competitions throughout the winter/spring. Someone needs to get the ball rolling...especially since I'm currently living in the grand canyon state.

But that's probably a discussion for the Southwest threads. I was just excited to see an Arizona student participating on here.

What's everybodys predictions for womens division?

It's extremely hard because I don't know anything about Coppell High or Gateway High's varsity groups let alone anything about their womens groups..

But to the groups I do know some about. Both Millard West and South Jones women's groups have had solid seasons. I think they'll be very close score wise based solely on results.

I can't say I know much about South Jones women's group, but I have heard great things about Millard West's women and they did beat Omaha Westside's women (which isn't always easy to do) and GINW who, though is having a rough year, is still a decent varsity choir.

Because of this, I will predict:

GC. Millard West "Uptown Girls"
1RU. South Jones "New Edition"

Prediction:

GC. Johnston
1RU. Jenks
2RU. South Jones
3RU. Bellevue West/Jackson Academy

I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of the lesser known groups jump into the mix and knock out a couple of these groups, though. I also could see this order mixing around a bit. Basically, what I'm saying, is this is going to be a very good, close competition.

Still wish Elkhorn South was coming. Would have probably contended for a GC here in just their third year of existence. Does anyone know why they decided to not come?

Anyway, good luck to all groups here!

Sad to see Elkhorn South's name being removed from this competition. I really felt they could place rather well here.
I agree. This competition is just such a huge question mark. There are so many show choirs from underrepresented regions, so who knows what to expect out of Arlington, Gateway, Willow Canyon, and Broken Arrow. I would say Jenks and Johnston should for sure make finals and probably be the top two, but beyond that this will be an interesting day of experiencing new show choirs.

FAME Branson – Saturday April 6, 2013 – Tri-Lakes Center

Arlington HS (?) “Flight”
Bellevue West HS (NE) “Connection”
Broken Arrow HS (OK) “Tiger Rhythm”
Columbus North HS (IN) “Debuteens”
Columbus North HS (IN) “Music Men”
Coppell HS (TX) “Vivace”
Elkhorn South HS (NE) "Blackout"
Gateway HS (CO) "Athenians"
Gateway HS (CO) "Show Choir"
Jackson Academy (MS) “Encore”
Jenks HS (OK) "Trojanaires"
Johnston HS (IA) “Innovation”
Millard West HS (NE) "West in the Groove"
Millard West HS (NE) "Uptown Girls"
South Jones HS (MS) “Company”
South Jones HS (MS) “New Edition”
Willow Canyon (AZ) “Evolution”

For the official list I have the corrections from here are no Elkhorn South, Columbus North is only bringing one choir called "Debuteens and Music Men, Gateway High schools "Show Choir" is really a women's group called "Venus", Coppell High Schools name is really "Respira", and finally Bellevue West's name is "West Connestion" instead of just Connection. Just thought I would share this information to clear the air. Also by the way with my packet I was unable to find the choirs "Athenians" , "Evolution" , "Tiger Rhythm" , "Respira" , and "Flight". If you guys know anything that would be great!

We just had our nationals meeting tonight and it is officially 4 finals placements and 12 mixed groups with also 3 women's groups.

Dang that is gonna be intense! Anyone know how many typically are large groups or Advanced MIxed? (We compete in intermediate usually and I know there aren't any divisions, but I was just wondering).

I've heard awesome things about y'all (Johnston) this year! I can't wait to see your show! (I could never find it on youtube) I have never made it out of the South in terms of show choir so I am looking forward to seeing ALL of the groups going.

I don't know who is exactly correct but I was told 5 finals spots.

I know it's varied a lot... Chicago had 3 New York and Orlando (the first) had 4 and Hollywood didn't have any (perhaps because they don't do finals over there anyway). It is possible for there to be 5 because of the number of groups going here... Plus it is the norm to do 5 in the south and Midwest... Who knows!

I know that my group performs early in the day... So I am looking forward to seeing all of the awesome groups going!
