I know that the varsity competition will be the main event but I also think that the prep competition will be fought just as hard and be just as much of a tossup as the varsity competition! Does anyone have any predictions for the prep competition?
I don't want to discourage anyone from coming that was planning on making the trek to Urbandale (because we all know there is nothing that can replace watching a competition in the flesh), but there is a distinct possibility we might be offering a webstream of our competition this year. Details to come as they're available...
Have you gotten any updates on whether or not this is happening? Cause I'd really like to know
Or with us (Johnston Innovation) performing close to those groups we can prove that we can do some of the same things like the huge groups making us look really good or not as good as we really are.
Yeah that's true it will either play in your favor or play against you, it will be a real tossup much like what this whole competition is!
Yeah I was about to say Prairie is going first and they're bound to set the bar very high very early in the competition. And I agree, Johnston's time slot doesn't really do them any justice, going after three great groups of Lincoln SW, Wheaton, and Kennedy and then followed by Ankeny. All the groups are going to have to give it their all to even contend for the finals because most of the spots are going to be a real tossup and bloodbath to snag.

Well Lincoln Southwest just beat Totino and Sioux City East 2 weekends ago at Omaha Westside. They won, Totino got 5th and SC East didn't make finals. So it seems like a pretty clear gap. I haven't seen all of Johnston's show, just the opener, but it seems like they probably won't catch Southwest either.
There was a large gap between 2nd and third in my opinion at Westside. Which by this logic means that the gap between 1st and 5th was even larger.
whoops. i forgot Prairie was going first, and from what I saw at Fab 5, Prairie will set the bar pretty high lol. So idk it's really a toss up. That's the beauty of show choir. You have to bring your A-game 100% of the time, or anyone can beat you.

Then do you think they can at least catch finals?
My best bet would be Totino-Grace, but I am having issues with their show. Personally, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE Sioux City East in the finals, but they already faltered once.

Well it's hard to know just off of one song from a month ago. A great opener is great, but if the rest of the show doesn't match the level of the opener, then it's hard to know. I think finals will be a battle between Totino, Johnston, and SC East. I haven't seen any of those 3 shows besides Johnston's opener (again from a month ago) so it's just too hard for me to make that call. I would say Johnston has a good time slot, but Totino's might be a little better. Going after Kennedy is TOUGH while Totino may be setting the bar.
I was at the Omaha Westside Show and from early results up to this point none of the three have convinced me that they can defeat Lincoln Southwest "Resonance".
I don't think Muscatine could beat either one of them and they beat you.

I don't know whose job it is or who is allowed to but the order of the groups in the prep division should go Totino Grace, Kennedy, then Ankeny, not Ankeny, Totino Grace, then Kennedy. The times are right it's just that the groups are in the wrong order, at least according to the website that was provided earlier in this thread.
