In Wash's case, they will be going to Western Dubuque, which their new director has been going to for years now. I would just assume he enjoys going to that competition. I don't think he has ever had his groups compete at Kennedy.

Jefferson will be competing in Indiana that weekend at Franklin Central. I know their choreographer likes for them to compete in Indiana, which is not surprising considering Jefferson always scores VERY well in Indiana, and Antwon is also more familiar with competitions there. They have won Best Vocals at the last 3 competitions they have gone to in Indiana over groups like Center Grove, Carmel, Lawrence Central, Lafayette Jefferson, etc.

Interesting note: The only Iowa groups to have ever won in Indiana are Washington and Jefferson. The only other Iowa group to even make finals in Indiana (to my knowledge) was Iowa City West back in 1982.

Cool, and while I think its awesome that choirs 1. Can afford to travel those distances in this economy 2. are WILLING to travel that far, but its just a bummer to not be able to compete against choirs from our state at all. Not that that is anyone's fault just a bummer, meh what are you going to do. Good luck and Kick some butt.

Good Schedule! Question to the CR people why now love for Kennedy's comp? Seems to me with all the budget cuts a competition In-town would save on the bank, are there other conflicts? Just curious

BTW here are my predictions:
GC:Ankeny
1RU:Urbandale
2RU:Xavier(these three could be switched)
4RU:Davy Central
5RU:Muscatine or the prep winner

Both Jefferson and Wash went last year but with new directors I am sure they want to go to new competitions. I am a bit surprised to not see Prairie come to this competition with Sands' connection to Kennedy... but they never go to CR comps since Linn-Mar in like 06??

But I am pretty bummed about Wash not going especially! I like this competition
