Aztec was a GREAT competition! Since I graduated last year and go to APU (right next to Citrus) I knew I had to go to the 1st competition and support my friends.

I thought Arcadia was beautiful. The black & white is always a classy choice, and your sound this year was especially gorgeous. I see why you and Powerhouse tied for 1st now. Choreography was clean as well, and I look forward to even more passion in your show!

Burbank...oh my goodness! What can I say? I love what I saw. Your costumes are beautiful!!! I am in love with them! And I love the songs you have so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing the complete package! You were definitely a favorite of mine on Friday night! Congratulations, it's a wonderful show!!!!!

Chula Vista...always love you. I especially loved the songs you sang this year! "One Short Day," "For Good," and "Tear Them Down" are all wonderful choices! Especially since "Wicked" is coming to LA in June/July 2005!!!! I thought you definitely sounded and looked great this year, and I thought you would have placed. I'm excited to see you place in the future! Mr. A does a great job w/you all!!!

Diamond Bar...You always scare me! In a good way I think. Your energy is electrifying! Wow!!! So much passion goes into it, and it's the one thing about your school that has never changed. Your director & choreographer make a good team.

Carlsbad, I was pretty impressed with you. This group has had their up and down years from the 4 years I was in show choir, and I think you have great potential this year! I love Christy, you're doing a great job working w/your choirs! I really enjoyed your last 1/2 w/the contemporary pop music! Keep it up!!!

Burroughs....::tear:: I so missed performing with you all! And of course you ARE my favorites! I'm in choir at school, but we mainly stand and sing (and NOT that there's ANYTHING wrong with it), but there is something special about show choir, as you all have heard. IT'S TRUE! Treasure this year whether you like the set or not. Once again, you amaze me with what I was blessed with while being in that choir...beautiful music!!! I admit, I wasn't sure about "Feed the Birds" but of course the arrangement was great and you made it beautiful. It's definitely not Whitacre, or "Sing Me To Heaven," but it worked. "Earth Song" was my favorite! Have fun and be passionate...and prepared...and you guys will have a very successful year!

Mrs. Rago, your ability to transform and mold sound into a perfect form and creation is absolutely amazing. I realized it as a student of yours, but it's even more evident and exciting to witness as an audience member. I have much respect and a high regard for you, and you keep getting better and better every year. Thank you for never being "satisfied" and going one step further each time.

And Jen, I love the choreography for the songs I've seen so far! I'm so excited to see everything else. It's strange for you to not be my choreographer after 7 YEARS, but we all have to move on and grow in other things. Thanks for your hard work and determination to make this a great, albeit different show from others, since this one is "happy" and not filled with "drama" or an "emotional rollercoaster" like prior years...at least not yet, I don't know what you have in mind. Good luck w/it!

Congratulations to all! Every single group was prepared for this competition, and it made it very enjoyable to watch. (And not one song was repeated by a choir this year...what a feat!) ;)

BIG NOTICE TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!

As of this moment, Arcadia High School is disowning Neil. He does not represent the opinions of anyone from my choirs and I wish that he would just shut up. He spouts off and doesn't think about what he is saying, so  knock it off, Neil. I know you are voicing your opinion, but as long as you put the name of our school in your bio, you are still representing us. My sincere apologies to those he has offended.

Also, for anyone who cares, Burroughs and Arcadia actually tied for Musicianship. The tie-breaker states that the award goes to the group with the highest Showmanship score.

Wow.. that's so hilarious. I commend you Mr. Maxson for saying what we all have wanted to say. It's seriously just not constructive when you're basically bad-mouthing choirs.

Thanks to all the choirs who entertained at Aztec. Everyone was magnificent. However, as everyone knows, everyone has room for improvement. But I'm sure by Diamond Bar Spectacular, we will already see the difference. I'm looking forward to see more extended sets from every choir - especially Chanteurs!

Keep up the good work!

maybe im just a cold heartless person.. but i think that some of the things that neil says are funny. i have noticed over the past year that he comes on here to cause controversy and make peoples blood boil, so ive gotten used to that and gotten over what he says and just laugh. and if you dont want to read his posts... just block him. thats my two cents

Thank you, Kevin. Neil is an oddball and I hope no one gets offended by his comments. He should just say what he wants, but without Chanteurs in his bio. I, on the other hand, want to say congrats to all at Aztec. Whatever the groups were doing, may it be 'hiding' or 'practicing' as some of you ahve said, it was a good show.

Hoping to kick butt @ DB!

Thank you Mr. Maxon for your statement about Neil. His comments were uncalled for and I'm sure everyone here knows that Arcadia High School has way more class than the comments that Neil shared with us. Once again, thank you Mr. Maxson!!

I too, have been waiting for the banning of Neil.

Great opening to the season, everybody. The whole night was entertaining, and I loved all the energy. I look forward to Diamond Bar.

However, this post is dedicated to the only group that, IMHO, truly got robbed Friday night, and that would be Glendora. I agree with those who have already pointed out that you guys were the best we've ever seen, and I thought you deserved to place. Your vocals were stronger, more in tune, and better blended than ever before, and you put on such an entertaining show that I didn't even watch for dancer boy very much, though he did seem to be skittering in from the wings a lot. To keep this short, congrats for bringing it up a giant step, and keep up the exciting work!
