How was Clinton Middle school?? Are there videos online???
These are the only 2012 videos I could find via youtube and they aren't great quality:
"Billionaire"
"Hollywood"
"High" (Choraliers will clearly recognize this great song )

Obviously not their full show, but it looks very impressive from these short clips. Clinton Ambassadors' 2011 show is up in its entirety just for reference on how great of a group it is:
Part 1
Part 2

In the junior high division Fairfield got 3rd runner up. The tie for 1st runner up was between Brandon and Edgewood.
Let me just say though that after seeing Clinton's middle school group, they could easily compete in the high school division and make finals. By far the best middle school group I've ever seen.

Though I will certainly agree with you about Clinton JH being a tremendously strong group (and they were), watching all the groups last night, you can see a HUGE difference (both in size and development) between them and Edgewood, Brandon, and Fairfield.

It was very obvious that they use a lot of freshmen in their group, which I know is within the rules, of course. It's just tough to watch the 7th and 8th graders within the other three choirs get up, and try to hold their own against older kids - despite excellent performances by all of them.

But once again, congrats to Clinton, and all of the other middle school's last night! Everyone was outstanding!

Congrats to all the finalists! Has anyone heard the prelim placements? Or does anyone who is there have comments/predictions? Should be a pretty intense finals.

So I was bored. Here are some award records for the choirs attending in the mixed division (I mentioned key groups that they competed against). I also attempted to arrange them according to award record (most GC's, etc. *NP=No Placement* Bold=groups at Nationals. T#=Tier #. NF=No Finals):

Kennedy:
GCx3
2RUx1 (against WWS and Waukee)

Fairfield:
GCx2 (against North Central)
2RUx1 (against Solon and Franklin Central)

Albertville:
GCx1 (against Oak Mountain and Petal)
2RUx3 (against Homewood and Solon)

Oak Mountain:
2RUx2 (against Albertville and Homewood)
4RUx1 (against Clinton)
NPx1 (against Auburn and Homewood)

Petal:
2RUx1 (against South Jones)
3RUx1 (against Homewood and Albertville)

Auburn:
3RUx1 (against Homewood and Oak Mountain)
4RUx1 (against Homewood and Albertville)

EPG:
1RU/T2x1, NF (against Sullivan)
NPx1 (against Mt. Zion and Sullivan)

Sumrall:
NP (against Clinton and Oak Mountain)

Mayfair/West Jessamine:
No award record.

Predictions purely by award record:
GC: Kennedy
1RU: Fairfield
2RU: Albertville
3RU: Oak Mountain
4RU: Petal

**These award records are based on what is listed on this website (with the exception of Petal's 2RU competition, which I attended).**

***Opinion Area***
Personal Predictions (By key groups competed against, personal experience, and guesswork):
GC: Fairfield (BC, BB)
1RU: Kennedy (BV)
2RU: Albertville (Show)
3RU: Petal
4RU: Oak Mountain/Auburn

Kennedy has 4 GCs this year. Most recently at Grand River Invitational in LaCrosse Wisconsin! very excited to see all these groups!

I had never heard of Brandon Middle School previously, which isn't surprising since middle school/junior high show choirs receive much less attention. Is this a "feeder" group for a high school mixed division show choir? I did a quick google search and it revealed that Brandon MS feeds into Brandon HS, however, Brandon HS isn't listed as having a show choir which seems odd?

Congratulations to Pure Elegance! And I can't even imagine that middle school/junior high showdown...Clinton, Fairfield, Brandon, and Edgewood. Clearly a "middle school/jh national championship" for sure! Congrats Clinton on beating out two very fine Midwest groups!

Albertville's 2RU's were, in fact, 1st RU three separate comps.

Just to clarify since the SCC database isn't fully up to speed with results this season:

Fairfield Choraliers have actually been awarded Grand Champions three times this season. The competition that isn't included on FF's record is the Edgewood Contest of Champions competition where the Choraliers received GC against Troy, Lawrence Central, Mt. Zion, and Sullivan.

Albertville CenterStage! also received a 3RU at Enterprise behind Clinton, Homewood, and Auburn.

Just fully clarifying choir's records thus far this season. I'm not familiar enough with the other groups to know if any of their competitions aren't linked to the database yet like the Edgewood and Enterprise topics.

Good luck to all competing groups!
