I don't know if you've seen Albertville and Auburn's shows this year, but Albertville's show kills Auburn.Enterprise results were a joke and you would understand if you would have seen both shows.
With all due respect, I didn't say that Auburn was better than Albertville, I simply based my opinions off of results thus far this season. Albertville scored higher than Auburn at Opelika and Auburn scored higher than Albertville at Enterprise. This objectively shows that neither choir is unanimously better than the other. Despite your strong opinion, I haven't seen the show since Albertville typically waits until the conclusion of the season to post their show so I cannot agree nor disagree with your statement. But I am excited to see their show!
Lastly, it's fine that you think Enterprise's results were a joke, but I'm sure it meant the world to Auburn to place third at that competition. Every judge has a different taste, yet they're all very qualified to do their job. (Isn't that why choirs attend multiple competitions? To hear a diversified plethora of judge's opinions?) I trust the judge's results and that's why I said it'll be interesting to see how Fairfield and Albertville's non-traditional shows will be received at SCN.
I think that Kennedy is being underrated thus far in predictions. I honestly don't know much about Iowa show choir, so I'm just going based off of results and youtube videos, but Kennedy's vocals seem killer...even for a youtube video. They also look like a small army on stage, there's so many of them! I would probably guess that it'll come down to Kennedy and Fairfield for GC. I think it'll be an interesting and intense battle for third between Albertville and Auburn. I would normally say Albertville for sure ahead of Auburn, but Auburn placed higher recently at Enterprise. I'm sure it was a very close point margin, so Nationals should be interesting!
I think it's also difficult to predict Nationals, since in my opinion, they seem to prefer more traditional shows. For example, Los Al placing higher than Burbank in 2010 when Burbank was basically untouchable on the West Coast. So it'll be interesting to see how the judges react to Fairfield and Albertville's shows which are supposedly quite non-traditional this year.

I apologize for any messiness... I just copied straight from the site.
So.. I really wish I had a way to edit the topic and fix my glaring spelling error. D: However, anybody have any thoughts on this competition yet? I am beyond excited. I have never been to a FAME or Nationals competition ever!
Ugh? Please tell me you aren't disappointed!? Burbank and Los Al went in 2010 and Buffalo Grove and Totino Grace went this past year. It's not like they've never been to SCN. It's unrealistic to expect the same groups to attend the same national competitions every year or every other year. I would think that most like to rotate their national competitions (given they're able to afford to).
Not only that, but Fairfield and CR Kennedy are attending. Fairfield is Ohio's best and they've won Grand Champion at FAME Branson in 2009, 3rd at SCN in 2010, Grand Champion at Grand River, 3rd at FAME Chicago, and 4th at the National Show Choir Finals (FAME Indy) in 2011. FF is definitely on-par with the groups you mentioned above and I've heard great things about CR Kennedy. Not to mention there are solid Southern choirs attending (that I'm not as familiar with).
It doesn't take the California powers, TG, or BG to make an intense competition. Competition season hasn't even started yet, so who knows how this competition will look in a couple months from now.
I'm not dissapointed with the difficulty of the cometition, I was just hoping to see Burbank or John Burroughs or Los Alamitos. If you look up my choir, Albertville Centerstage, you will not find a typical show choir. We incorporate more theatre into our show than anything else. I was only hoping to see one the Cals big 3 to see somebody who does a show centered around theatre as much as ours is and see how the best do it. That's all I was trying to say. And yes Fairfield and Cedar Rappids will provide a threat to ANY choir they face this year and I'm SUPER excited about seeing them.
Was kind of hoping for John Burroughs, Burbank, or Los Alimitos to be there since we're going Oh well. And now Buffalo Grove or Totino Grace! Ugh.
