I performed in Hawaii at this outdoor venue with BYU singers and the Indianapolis Children's Choir when I was like 12 yrs old. "The Pacific Rim Choral Festival" there were youth choirs from all over the U.S. Australia, Japan, and one from China. I'm kind of wondering who put on that festival. I obviously didn't find out about all these companies like Fame until a lot later.
Anyway, the Polynesian Cultural center is an amazing place to perform. Any group making the trip will surely enjoy themselves. I mean... It's hawaii....
Well they have a FAME Hawaii page but it says the date is December 6, 2011. It also says it's a "festival," so I'm assuming that means no competing.
Yeah, I saw that too... but the description said "music festival open to all choirs, bands & orchestras," so I thought it was something different.
It's possible that I'm blind, but I don't even see a mention of this competition on FAME's website anymore.
